That Rock/Hogan promo was one of the most solid promos I've seen from the WWF in recent months. Nice trading of chants - Rock to Hogan to Rock. Hall & Nash took their time getting to the ring for the beatdown, though - did they forget the way to the ring?

Considering how vigilant the police (on- and off-duty) were earlier with Austin, they certainly kept clear of Hogan's assualt, battery, and attempted vehicular manslaughter of Rock. Of course, Rock will no-sell it like HHH. By the way, did Rock need to do more reshoots on The Scorpion King?

Rock said on Byte This that he's done with his movie. Not that Byte This is 20/20 or anything.

I think they picked Rock because he's the most vulnerable main-eventer. The crowd wouldn't have bought Austin in the beatdown, and HHH was busy tonight (not that the crowd would've bought that either.) But Rocky is always getting his ass kicked, so why not once more?

... Good stuff from Rock/Hogan, all the way around.

Funniest moment (for me) from the Hogan promo was when he told the fans that they "turned on him" and that they could "kiss his ass". I said, "My God!! Hogan has turned into Bret Hart!!"

Nice response from the Chicago crowd for Hogan. The "Hogan" chant and the pop for his Legdrop of Doom (and the "pinfall" count) was a pleasant surprise. A terrific show of respect for a WWF icon in his return -- nice to see.

"Ohh, do I care? I don't even care. That's OK. It's just a PIECE of what I really wanted from you, Ric Flair. THIS IS WHAT MAKES YOU TICK!! This is what makes you tick ... from the inside out. And, I just took a piece of you. You haven't been beat up properly!! But I'm gonna do that for ya, yeah. This isn't all I want from you, Flair. I want the whoooole Nature Boy. I want the whole Flair package!! You call yourself the Real World Wrestlin' Federation Champion. Well, I guess I am now. And, after what you did to Elizabeth -- I guess you couldn't make me any madder than I was before I went into the ring, but somehow YOU DID IT!!! Made it possible, yeah. Now I'm gonna get the rest of him. Doesn't matter -- in the street, parking lot; doesn't even maaatter to me, yeeah. 'Cause I'll do anything to win. If I didn't PROVE IT, I'll prove it next time ... oooooohhhh yeaaaahhh!!"

Who is the next main eventer they'll hit? That'll be Big Poochie's dance partner for WM . . . Undertaker? Big Show? HHH?

Frankly, I wish they'd mix in a current heel (or two), just to prove how much of a "poison" they are.

Scotty...

I gotta tell ya, I'm wondering myself who the next guy they'll hit is gonna be. I don't think it'll be Undertaker, though, since it'd mean a face turn for him. And 'Taker is scary as a heel. I'd expect Undertaker to do some “convincing Flair to change his mind” (a terrifying statement that could be interpreted on many different levels) and to see that match indeed go down at WrestleMania.

As far as mixing in current heels. I think it'll happen eventually. But do that too many times, and you've got just another heel faction with several guys we've seen in the WWF for years. As opposed to what we have now, which is three guys who've spent years away from the WWF, coming in to invade and destroy it.

Jericho, in my opinion, is not a good choice to join the nWo right now, because it'd be too predictable. Here's an idea I have for WrestleMania:

A double-turn in the main-event between Jericho and Triple H. The nWo helps Triple H win, beating the living hell out of Jericho, and we find that the fight with Stephanie was a swerve all along. But it needs to be carefully calculated, because the desired effect would be to have Triple H turn heel and Jericho turn face, not to have the nWo turn face.

Triple H makes a believable member of the nWo.

I'm not saying this is a good idea. Actually, I don't think it's a good idea at all. But it's a semi-probable outcome, I think. Of course, we're still four weeks away.

Problem with that it that'll be three heel endings for the past three Wrestlemanias.

I believe the Rock is actually getting a vacation for a while. Alternating between wrestling and trying to rescue The Scorpion King has left him a little burned out. (I read this on 411).

Not that I blame the guy. I tire myself out getting out of bed in the morning... afternoon. Yeah.

I don't see a heel ending for Wrestlemania being a problem. It's too early for the nWo to be defeated. And the nWo is all about sending the fans home unhappy. Remember the amount of garbage they had tossed at them?

Yep, it will be good to see the garbage tossing come back. I think they will have to beat down some lovable WWF announcer or someone else. (Hey, why not have one of the announcers turn into a Bischoff and lead the NWO?)

Hogan will need to win that title sometime soon as well.

And has anyone thought of bringing the Macho Man into the NWO?

I'm thinking that Taker will continue his new direction of tearing apart smaller, younger up-and-comers with a new victim: David Flair.

He *is* still wrestling for OVW or HWA, isn't he?
