Hey, let's try and assign blame for interesting statements to people who made them. I didn't say anything about that. In fact, while I voted for Trump, I don't even think I said anything particularly positive about him in this thread except that he isn't really a republican. I still contend that the main vote wasn't for Trump it was against Hillary Clinton and big and intrusive government.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I cannot think of anything more intrusive than ripping people out of homes and telling women you have to cross state lines to get an abortion.

I can't think of anything more intrusive than ripping a living being out of another person, usually, but not always, because the "other person" couldn't keep their clothes on.

Yep, those rape victims should have fought harder.

Do you mean that Republican stronghold in Waukesha County that ran out of ballots? You'll have to refresh my memory - I must be too close to the forest to see the trees (or something).

Probably means Republicans gleefully gutting early voting and such, as well as enacting Republican-favoring voter ID laws (not just requiring identification, but also specifically allowing just the forms of ID that Republican voters would be more likely to have, such as hunting licenses, and not forms Democratic voters would have like student IDs). The more egregious cases of these actions were in North Carolina, which got struck down because their Superior Court found they were meant to suppress Democratic votes. But Scott Walker was one of the first on board in Wisconsin...

Sorry - haven't heard anything that matches that description in the news here in Wisconsin.
Early voting was pretty tight, as that is up to each municipality to decide upon. Where it COULD have been opened up a month prior to the election, here in Waukesha (heavy Republican territory, if I didn't mention that above), I couldn't early vote until two weeks before the election.
By the way, here are the [sarcasm on]burdensome[/sarcasm] requirements for registering to vote on the day of the election, according to my municipality:
At the polling place on Election Day: You can register to vote at your polling place, but you must bring proof that you reside at your present location, and it must be current and valid. Acceptable forms of proof of residence are: A current and valid Wisconsin driver’s license A current and valid Wisconsin identification card Any other official ID card or license issued by a Wisconsin governmental body An ID card with elector photo Issued by an employer during the normal course of business (not a business card) A real estate tax bill or receipt for the current year or year preceding the election - 2015 A residential lease which is effective for a period that Includes Election Day (Not valid registering by mail) A university, college, or technical institute identification card (must include photo) together with a fee payment receipt issued to the cardholder by the university, college, or technical institute dated no earlier than 9 months before election and a certified and current list of students who reside in housing sponsored by the school showing the current address A gas, electric, telephone, cell phone or cable service statement (utility bill) dated no earlier than 90 days before election (photocopy is acceptable and electronic form is acceptable) Bank statement A government check A paycheck or pay stub documentation of direct deposit A check or any other official document issued by a unit of government Affidavit for homeless electors
Is there something particularly onerous here?

In my state you can't register on the day of election (it's like up to two weeks before or something) and you have to show ID that it is you. They take almost anything though.
When I lived in Chicago there was nothing required which led to the old chicago saying of "vote early vote often".

Hey, once the Dems win back the House in 2006 after the public's disgust at the Republicans, and then Bush/Cheney are impeached, Pelosi becomes president.
