Who says wrestling isn't like real life?

Here's what you get if Orton wins at Summerslam...

It took Benoit 18 years to get to the top... 18 years, starting from the bottom, with nothing but hard work and a lot of talent.

If Orton wins, he'll be the youngest champ in history, and he will have gotten there, starting from the middle, with some work and some talent, but mostly with connections and nepotism.

Now that's reality!

And hell, I don't really mind Orton. I kinda like the guy, actually. But I think it would be a shame (or a sham) if he were to take the belt off Benoit right now. I don't think Orton had paid his dues. He's paid some dues, but his account is still short for a ride on top.

"I guess Hunter is to be occupied with f'n Eugene for however long. Good luck stretching that out."

OR he beats Eugene senseless at SummerSlam and ~REGAL~ returns for Unforgiven to battle him with every ounce of bile and venom that runs through his veins. They do seem to be saving that match-up, after all....

Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique.

They wanted to create a superstar out of thin air so they just handed the I.C. belt to Edge and just like that Orton is on his way to be the champ. (Whatever, maybe Im just paranoid). it just doesnt feel real or entertaining.

You see the problem with your thinking is that you are looking at it as a smart mark. The story isn't that "he was put in a Battle Royale that was intended (or so it seems to me) to give all the guys a place on a RAW that would otherwise have no time for them because of the Benoit-Hunter Ironman." That maybe the reason behind why the writers booked it, but it isn't part of the story you're saying has a logical hole in it.

Story-wise, one might argue that Bishoff arranged the match so Benoit could face a member of Evolution (3 available members were in there together) if he won, or so if HHH won Benoit would not get a title shot anytime soon.

I thought it was "vile" because every ounce of "bile" would be a little gross. I hope he doesn't have bile running through his veins. :b

I would love to see Benoit on Raw but I doubt it will happen Because I think if anyone goes to Smackdown it will be HBK because there are so many people he has never faced and they need hime more. He could really put over Cena. But Benoit goin g to Smackdown instead of HBK would be great also because we could see him fight Eddie, Angle, Cena, RVD, and JBL. I think either HBK or Benoit should go to Smackdown by the end of the year.

Shawn won't be living for Smackdown anytime soon. He has to fued with Kane and then after that fight HHH a hundred more times with HHH come out on top. I agree Shawn just be sent to Smackdown, they need a big boost, because after Taker there is no one for JBL to face. Cena is going to be gone for most of September and October if shooting runs long. The WWE will never put the belt back on Eddie, because of his behavior, one blow up and his crimison mask performance at Judgement Day which is hypocritical because HHH and HBK go out there and do the same fucking thing and never get told not to do it. RVD comes to mind, but he is being jobbed left and right. He needs a big win, badly. Rey would be fun to watch, but LBJ is no Mike Awesome and couldn't carry a big man/little man fued if his life depended on it.
Big Show could be face after crippling Kurt, but he should realistically go after Kurt or vice versa.

The question for this thread is what does Smackdown do now that they have no realistic threats to Bradshaw. What a minute did I just say that?

What a minute is right. Post-SummerSlam, you're all but guaranteed to get ...

Undertaker vs. Hei Den Reich
Cena vs. Booker

... and with Cena/Booker continuing, Angle doesn't go to his other natural rivalry and stays with ...

Guerrero vs. Angle

... since you also figure that Guerrero vs. Layfield has more than run its course on PPV and they aren't going right back to that. Which means Layfield has no challengers except Van Dam, which I probably wouldn't mind, but it's just not a realistic choice they're going to make. Therefore ...

Guerrero vs. Angle vs. Layfield?

... or, as you said, with Big Show is coming back, I guess he could be a babyface who we're happy threw evil Angle to his death. That would be weird, but then you've got those four to mix and match ...

Guerrero vs. Layfield AGAIN
Angle vs. Show

... or a fourway, and hopefully not the big Layfield vs. Show title match.
