How much 'enhanced interrogation' are you willing to allow if we can definitively catch OBL and end this wild goose chase once and for all?| Promote this thread! | | lotjx

We may see all of this end by the end of this year, but I doubt it. I would also be leery of anything he tells us and advertising we have him is not a good idea either. | redsoxnation

Well, if one guy is caught, a new one has to be elevated to the position, right? So the head of the snake hasn't been caught yet, but there's been no problem catching the shoulders. (Metaphorically, of course.)
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without. | Peter The Hegemon

We were doing the "enhanced interrogation" thing for years, and it didn't get us OBL...or this guy, for that matter. | DrDirt

You could just watch what he does like a hawk. Give him full access to the world.
I bet that would be more effective.

I agree. It couldn't cause THAT much damage and whatever we're doing hasn't worked.
I think OBL's been dead for years and all this work is helping because we're finding who's in charge now, but it just proves Al Qaeda isn't going away no matter who we capture. If we capture OBL and he's somehow alive, so what?

That's true but then how is this #2 guy different? Why is this one expected to lead to OBL's capture? |
