The final ECW superstar leaving is pretty sad to me, as an old school ECW fan. I know Vince never really gave ECW a chance, and only used it to market DVDs and a "new" ECW show on SyFy.
Its sad to see him go, but I'd really love to see him in TNA, if just to be a guy who could put on a half decent brawl, or to help younger guys. Either way, FAREWELL Tommy Dreamer! | Promote this thread! | | John Orquiola

I am a big Tommy mark and I will miss him. Its another departure that takes me away from wrestling thankfully, it wasn't as bad as Eddie or Benoit. After the event he was one of the only wrestlers that stayed and signed autographs for fans by the loading dock. I wish him will on future endeavors. Maybe TNA is in his future?

I hope he's happy wherever he winds up. He always struck me as one of those guys who just really loved wrestling and would do whatever he could for it. Maybe there's an agent spot in TNA or ROH for him?

Nice to see loyalty is still low on all wrestlers' priorities. Let's face it, WWE have stuck with him longer than anyone could realistically expect. | KJames199

I'm amazed they kept him as long as they did as well. But to be fair, WWE has fired injured/sick wrestlers and referees, fired a pregnant Diva, fired referees and agents who thought they were lifers, cut legends from their contracts (here I'm thinking Superstar Graham in particular), and refused to acknowledge the deaths of recent and/or long-term employees. Any wrestler who shows loyalty to WWE in hopes that it will be rewarded in kind is an idiot, plain and simple. It's a business and nothing more. They'll keep you for as long as they can use you and throw you away when they're done with you. If Tommy Dreamer figured that out and can get a better deal and a better spot in TNA (if that is indeed what he's doing), more power to him.

He'll probably get to tag with Abyss against Raven and be on PPV for a coupla months, but once that feud is done he's either back to jobber status or cut loose again like so many of those who find themselves involved in TNA's Abyss angles. I'd wager that, had he stayed with WWE, he would've been employed for longer and for better money than what TNA will bring him. | Oliver

Isn't Tommy married with two kids? I guess the schedule for TNA would work better for him, then.
He's been gainfully employed under Vince for countless years. Maybe a change of location would be of some benefit.
If anything, I'm tired of watching a watered down Tommy Dreamer. Let's see him really shine. Bring him, Sandman, and Justin Credible to TNA - unless that's not in Hogan's vision.

Fun fact #2: Tommy Dreamer cried after losing the Hardcore Title to Rob Van Dam 7.5 years ago.

For that matter, I don't think anyone is upset that Tommy Dreamer is leaving! It is more of a mild curiosity! "Huh! How about that! I wonder what he is going to do now! There probably aren't a lot of jobs in the wrestling world for Tommy Dreamer in 2009!" Those are a close approximation of my thoughts on the matter!

He never worked with Abyss, did he? Or does the "again" refer only to Stevie?
I don't know about a move to TNA, but he'd be a great indy card draw, like at PWG's Kurt Russellmania (prowrestlingguerrilla.com) or something.

I think at some point Vince put him in as an agent then he went back to being a wrestler when ECW came back full time. If TNA gets Tommy as an agent and an occasional hardcore wrestler then its a good move. Also, Tommy is not Shawn or HHH, but I actually care about his matches were I'm 50/50 with Shawn and could care less of HHH wrestled another match ever again. So, to me I don't mind this thread being around, lord knows there have been worst threads on this site. | | Pages: 1 2 3 4 Next
