Anybody think this is a bad deal? I can usually see the PPV for free there, so is it worth $25 to meet him? (trying to talk myself into going)| Promote this thread! | | hayden

It's a pretty unique opportunity, and I don't think it's that bad a deal anyway considering you're getting food and drinks too. If meeting Bret does turn out to be less than what you expected, it's not like you spent gobs of cash to meet him, so no big deal. | Big Bad

I was just watching the RAW before Summerslam '97 on 24/7 and noticed that too. I had forgotten about "The Summerslam". It actually sounded cool and fitting with his cocky, arrogant, Canadian pride thing going on.
Anyway, go for it! During a regular PPV night at the bar, you probably spend around $25 maybe for drinks and food, right? This is all-inclusive AND you get to meet Bret Hart.

Thank God someone else picked up on this. I thought it was just my brother and me. It drove us up the wall! I think that's the reason Bret wasn't one of our favorites...because he would always say "the summerslam".

I would pay a good amount of $$$ to hear Bret's thoughts on Triple H, Vince, Ric Flair etc in a bar room.

My understanding (I know the guy who did the commentary for the show Mike Rotch) is that there was a problem with Bret's flight from Chicago that was out of his control.
You could probably criticize Bret and Devon Nicholson (the guy that got butchered by Abdullah) for not arranging Bret to come in earlier given the problems with the US airlines with delays this summer, but aside from that I am fairly certain that if it was possible for Bret to be there, he would have been.

Sounds like it was a good deal. I paid £17 to meet Bret in the UK last year and that was without free food, drink and a PPV. It was still worth it though. | StaggerLee

I would have been perfectly willing to pay up front, get an autograph, and then leave, but I arrived around 6:30 so my ticket number was pretty far back in line(that's how they determined the line order). I also had to drop ten bucks on an 8x10 since dumbass me forgot to bring something to sign.
I finally got up there during Cena-Orton...said that he's one of the reasons I'm a wrestling fan and "thank you", then shook his hand. Hey, he's one of my all-time favorite wrestlers so it was cool to meet him briefly.
