After the highlights they go to the sports desk scene, and it's Jonathan Coachman!
How long has he been at ESPN? I usually don't watch the later editions. Has he been there for a while?
Almost a year now, I believe. I assumed his WWE delivery was a specific house style, but no. He does a fine job on ESPN.

My favorite moment of the Coachman on ESPNews era so far was the night they were showing the weigh-ins for the Lesnar/Couture. The other host, just bantering to fill out the last few seconds of the half hour, asked if Coach had any advice for Couture, and Coach responded with a "uh, no" full of demand never for such a connection to be made again. The sooner the man can get people to forgot he was connected ever to wrestling, the happier he'd be.
You can't imagine it would be fun going to work if your character is the whiny nerdy clueless announcer. It seems like eventually you'd tire of being the butt of an embarassing joke so the "boys" could have a laugh and you can get somebody over without the pain of jobbing paid talent. Then, on top of that they tried to get smart and turn one of these pushovers heel. Obviously this failed horribly but we were still fed this every week FOR ABOUT THIRTY YEARS so now the audience hates him in the old Vickie Guerrero/XPac way. Makes you think what kind of mental trauma a Kevin Kelly, Mark Lloyd, and probably Michael Cole went through.

All those boos for Vickie are X-Pac heat? I always thought that was "good heat", due to the fact that she is an awesome heel who plays her part incredibly well. No?

He probably will re-appear WM weekend like he did last year which I think was the Hall of Fame. Rock called him out. Did Rock get him that ESPN gig? lol

Coach was still the Smackdown color commentator as of Wrestlemania. I remember, because he called the Edge/Undertaker match, and him and Cole were just awful through the whole match.

If you wanna reach the Co-op, boy, you gotta get by me.
Braun is a rock star. More Braun. I want to see him destroy Brock. I want to see him destroy everything. I realize he basically neutered Kalisto immediately upon arrival back to the Raw roster, yes. Braun should be the guy. The fans are behind him....
