The skits from this episode about the 'Hip Hop Kids' and the game show testing people's ability to not cry were arguably just as funny. Justin Timberlake needs to become one of those constant hosts in the vein of Alec Baldwin. JT's two hosting gigs were two of the best SNL episodes in the last decade. Who knew the guy could be funny?
"I don't know what is more disquieting -- the fact that the rest of the statue is missing, or that it has four toes."
Don't leave out the awesomeness of The Barry Gibb Talk Show either. When I heard Timberlake was hosting I secretly hoped Fallon would come back to do it. So, yeah, I was happy.
I thought this was the funniest episode of SNL I had seen in years and years. I particularly enjoyed the digital short and the Homelessville sketch. The whole show was hilarious though.
I think the season has been pretty good in general (compared to the last 4 years or so). The Hugh Laurrie ep was stellar, Baldwin was his usual great self, Annette Benning was good, Timberlake was great in his 2nd stint, and I was genuinely surprised at how funny I thought the Ludacris episode was (with him in most of the sketches no less). I think Seth Myers is doing a solid job as head writer and hope to see the quality of the show continue to improve.
I think the musical guests have been somewhat of a letdown so far though. Even when the show was bad, you could at least get a decent musical guest. Beck was by far the best this year (the puppets and the offbeat instrumentation was awesome) and as one of the apparently few people who enjoy the Killers new album, I liked their appearance as well. Everyone else, not so much (yes, even the D).

Most awesome people are funny!
My sister-in-law and I loved that sketch and still joke about it today. "I'm Ashton Kucher! I'm AWESOME!"

Right there with you.
This song is very much like Adam Sandler's "P.O.S. Car" song. I darn near drove off the road laughing at that when played on the radio almost entirely due to the different sounds they used for bleeping. Without the editing it is still funny, but not quite as good.
