Yeah...a good person who's actually a fraud. I didn't even know she had her own TV show until all this. If this was planned (a 0.00001% chance of that), her marketing people need to get a hefty raise. She's become a household name overnight. Great job.

    Yeah, right.

Of course that would explain how she could yell out at the end of the show that it was her band's fault. Or wait, was that a voice over too? :P

it says so right here in the wcw handbook!

Isnt she a bit young to have so much acid reflux that she isnt able to 'sing' her song?

Besides, with her 'vocal powers' who could tell the difference?

For those who haven't had enough of ASHLEEGATE!

(CBS) When Ashlee Simpson ran off the "Saturday Night Live" stage last week after her lip-sync flap, 60 Minutes cameras were there to record her embarrassing exit, and the reaction from show creator Lorne Michaels and other shocked staff members of the show.

The exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the incident will be part of a Lesley Stahl report about the making of the venerable comedy program, to be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

I've been diagnosed with GERD; as far as I know, I've had a bad heartburn experience to feel like a panic attack/heart attack; plus I do feel like my throat is "sore." However, if she had acid reflux bad enough, she would not have been able to make it out on stage, let enough do a hoedown.

So nice she can blame everyone but herself; since I'll be taking the one-year-old out for trick-or-treating, guess I'll have to tape the 60 Minutes piece.

Yeah, I've had GERD, which then turned into worse, for which I'm getting surgery this Tuesday, and it's a joke for any singer to claim that as a reason why she can't sing.

Tonight's SNL, however, was a pretty good one. The best one this season, which might not say a lot.

Amy P really stood out, getting a fair bit of air time. I'll always love the "Rick!Rick!Rick!" skits, no matter whether anyone else does or not. Thankfully, they only come two or three times a season. Even those without lines in this skit still did a great job - Maya and Rachel were still "on," doing walk-throughs as power-walking old ladies in the mall. Subtle, but I caught their little actions.

Kenan Thomson was the most effective, which reminds me why I began to see him as the most valuable male on the show last year. Hopefully this leads to more Kenan in future skits, and more of that Chubbs talk show skit that was the first post-monologue skit tonight.

Anyone else realize that if Kerry wins this Tuesday, we'll likely see more Clinton appearances the next four years? Who plays Hilary right now? Is it Poehler?

Good update this week. Not great, but I like the direction they were heading in tonight better than what I've seen in past weeks. Will Forte's musical was so over-the-top and long that the longer it went on, the more I liked it. Even Amy P visibly broke up in the middle of it. When Forte's SNL days are over a few years down the road and a DVD is made, this appearance will still be remembered and talked about as one of his "break-out" moments IMO. Anyone really not like it?

I don't see why Eminem's music is a big deal anymore. I thought his two songs tonight were both lame.

I think Seth Meyers is getting annoying. His perma-smile is a little irritating, and he never seems to change his voice much when doing characters. You can still tell it's him if you close your eyes. And that's not good.

Finally, Winslet was really good. I'm always happy to see her perform.

Take the plunge. Step into liquid.

Man, did we watch the same show? Tonight's episode felt really flat. Winslet was barely in any sketches, Update's correspondants (save Forte's redonculous song) were uniformly bad, and not even the Smiegel cartoon was any good.

I caught SNL starting at the "RICKRICKRICK!" skit. That was a really poor 30 minutes to finish the show there.

Not necessarily a "joke," because it could cause problems. If the reflux is spilling over from the esophagus towards the larynx, the acid could start eroding the tissues in there (especially with the vocal cords being right there). Multiply that by enough years and there could be damage, but Ashley Simpson is what, 20? Kinda would make it highly suspect. Julie Andrews lost her singing voice for much less.

This was the first SNL I've seen of the new season - no Tracy Morgan hurts it for me. I had no idea Kate Winslet had such a good singing voice, and she pulled off a pretty good Nora Jones. The rest of what I saw (through WU) was hit or miss, with the Mrs. Dr. Frankenstein being some sort of Halloween "Girl with no Gaydar" bit that wouldn't die fast enough.

He definitely was. It seemed like he even pulled the mic away from his mouth a few times to make sure people realized it.

I wouldn't say it was lip-synching as much as it was him rapping over his own voice with the record the DJ was playing. What I found very annoying about his performances was how obvious it was the he was reading the teleprompters. His stage presence was blah... I was trying to like "Mosh", but after that performance, I wasn't even impressed.

The show as a whole wasn't too bad. I cracked up during the opening skit and the ribbing of Ashlee Simpson all night. It was definately Amy Poehler's night though. I love her Katelyn skits with Horatio. I really loved Will Forte and his Halloween song. As soon as it took up the National Anthem's Melody, I rolled. "Working that lady in the caaaarrr...." Classic.

My only complaint is that Kate Winslet was under used. I think she was in maybe 4 skits last night. It's likely that some skits that included her were cut because others ran long. Weekend Update was one.

Stewie: What's that? Oh yes, yes, I love crack. I'm absolutely cuckoo for crack.

Yeah, it's great and fun and you didn't even mention the re-imagining of Krang as "The Kraang" and their endlessly amusing speech patterns.
