Parnell did a better job as Bush this week.

I don't know why but I liked the Bloater Brothers.

Hammond as Dan Rather was the highlight of the night.

Another funny Update. The funniest part were the lines about the Felicty DVDs and NBC buying Bravo.

Lots of commercial parodies this week. The funniest one was the lawyer one.

Horatio Sanz was also funny this week.

Overall, a better show than last week. Next week Brittany Murphy hosts.

I thought the skit with the host playing Kirsty ALley was really funny.

That host chick was hot, but thats just my opinion.

The Missy Elliot workout was pretty funny as well.

Easily the best episode of the year, and save the Bloater Brothers and Missy E skits it stands up with a lot of the episodes from the past couple years.

Nia Vardalos is the best host they've had in a long time. She fit perfectly into the cast; if you didn't watch the show regularly, and missed the beginning last night (and ignored the bumpers and musical introductions, of course) you couldn't figure out who the host was and who the regular players were. She combined the talent of an entertainer with the "I actually give a damn" attitude of the offkey guests (like John McCain) that bother to learn their lines. She had more energy than half the cast, and totally sold that mediocre bikini wax segment with RACHEL DRATCH~!

Parnell looked better because he was actually given material to work with this time, unlike his first go at Bush. Not to knock the guy; he does a good impression, it's just hard to match Will Ferrell.

The CBS Election Coverage skit was the best of the night; Hammond does Rather so good it scares me.

That Bloater Brothers thing was one of the worst things I've ever seen on SNL. Not ONE laugh in that entire segment. Here's hoping we never see those guys again...

I don't know... I don't think that the real George W. Bush would be able to add 24 and 25 that quickly... Parnell's impression was better than the first time, but I still miss Ferrell's.

It seems to be the dissenting opinion, but the Big Fat Greek Lady wasn't funny. At all. It felt like Molly Shannon was back.

I wasn't too impressed, and next week's doesn't feel like it's gonna be much better. Oh well, they're sure to pick things up for the Al Gore and Robert DeNiro episodes next month.

Actually, Nia was a pretty good host. This was the second-best show of the season behind the episode with McCain. I agree next week will probably suck.

Anybody notice that the only skit Amy Poehler was in was that Swfiter commercial?

Nia of course has an advantage being that she was a longtime Second City member, which means she's used to the way that show works, and probably worked with about 1/4 of the cast in improv and live settings before.

Fuckers cut off our Amy supply!
WHATSUPWITDAT?

As for the show, I gave up after the Turkish talk show, those two brothers only exist so it's okay for Fallon to keep giggling during a skit without breaking character, and Dan Rather WAS the best part of that show. Update was good too, but SNL soooooooooo needs to bring in the last 75% of the UCB.

Amy's amazing. She shows a lot of Ana Gasteyer's range, although she's normally cast in skank roles so its hard to tell sometimes.

SNL had the best female cast ever last year, what with Gasteyer, Dratch and Rudolph along with Poehler. I can't figure out why she wasn't on this week's show; she was in the building that week, since she was on a new Conan several days before the show.

I think she's the first featured player to become a repertory player in her first season, though I could be wrong there.

I dont know, she just comes off as not really all that talented, to me at least. But then again, all I have seen her play is the one legged girl, and a very few other small parts. Shes no Dratch, thats for sure.
BTW, I finally saw Gilmore Girls (well, part of it, my girlfriend came home, so I had to switch to a football game, as to not look too fruity) and that chick in your avatar photo, she is HOT!

Eddie Murphy in his first season was a featured player then he became a regular castmember the same season. Of course that was the worst SNL season ever.

Also, there's rumors that Adam Sandler may make a cameo appearance this week.

Considering he's got two movies out - one of which is actually getting *Oscar buzz*, I'm shocked he's not going to be hosting anytime soon.

(I read somewhere that, if things are fair, the Best Actor nominees at next year's Academy Awards will include Robin Williams, Adam Sandler and Eminem. How fucking weird would that be?)

Sandler and Williams would deserve the Oscar noms; "Punch-Drunk Love" was amazing, and though I hate all Adam Sandler's films, he was great in it as well. "One Hour Photo" was good, not Best Picture worthy, but Williams was stellar.

As far as Mr. Mathers goes, I haven't seen "8 Mile" yet, so I'll keep my trap shut.

You're right though. It would be very weird.

And yes, Stagger, Lauren Graham is VERY HOT.

I thought ONE HOUR PHOTOS was briliant. Reminded me of a GOOD Kubrik film. Williams is 100 times the actor in a drama role that he is in a comedic role.

I liked "One Hour Photo" a lot, but it was missing one of those... What did they call those things movies used to have? An ending? Yeah, one of those. It was excellent until you found out all that buildup was for naught.

Robin Williams, however, was *incredible* in that movie, and I'd be shocked if he wasn't nominated. Hell, I'd be shocked if he didn't win. (And, I'd also be suprised if he didn't pick up a Best Supporting Actor nomination for "Insomnia" while they're at it.)

EDIT: Me like to type words. Typing words big fun.
