I just found out I get paid 85 cents an hour more than I used to. And nobody told me about it until now.

So, have any of my fellow Wieners been covertly given raises like this? Is this a common occurance, or am I just strange in this regard?

I know I have a raise coming, but no one will tell me how much exactly it is going to be. Of course, I already know it won't be much, but even so, a guy would like the info.

I would guess you work in a place that gives raises based on number of hours worked. Kind of an automatic thing.

You guys are obviously not union members.

I can tell what my salary is going to be (baring new contracts) for, like, the next 10 years. I've got a small raise coming coming next year, but then in 2 years I've got a whopping 8 grand raise in store for me.

It seems that I am - in no particular order - Zack Morris, John Adams, a Siren, Aphrodite, Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel, Amy-Wynn Pastor, Hydrogen, Spider-Man, and Boston.

Most employers make a huge deal about giving any raise. (So I'd have t say that you're just strange. :-) ) "We're just so thrilled with your performance that we're giving you this whopping huge raise, which after taxes amounts to about 20 cents an hour." "Ooooh, I feel so motivated." And I was one of the lucky few who got a raise ...

I've had a weirdness where the bottom line amount suddenly increased unexpectedly toward the end of the year. It was some kind of deal about reaching the required "mandatory contribution" to social security or some such. Don't know whether there would be any equivalent thing for Canadians ...

Regardless: Congratulations!

Yeah, just show the dog lots of love and involve the dog in the move (maybe bring the dog with you on a trip over or two). It'll be nothing like the drama of moving my cats last year, one of whom has had a lot of trauma and (perceived)
