It was a good episode, with as you said a lot of action. At first I was under the impression that Henshaw was so bitchy to Superman because he was all "save my crew, let me be heroic by self-sacrificing" but then I realized it was probably more a "damn you. It's you!" sort of thing which makes more sense considering his interview last week.
I have no clue why Lex would have his own mission sabotaged, but I'm definitely interested. I hope the answer lies in the Kawatche caves. I miss those.
Btw, I got the printed version of 1,2,3. Only had the chance to glance it over but I don't think there were any differences.
This has been one of the slower weeks in comics for a while. I gave DC the icon, based on the quality of: BLACKEST NIGHT: SUPERMAN #1: Ok, I'll admit, I didn't expect much out of the tie-ins. This turned out to be a fairly good horror story.
