A future dream that Clark has shows Perry as the Editor of the Daily Planet, Lois sporting her best Palin look, Clark's glasses on his desk, the mention of Olson, a came of Lex running for President and the original theme as a red/blue blur flies up to save the city. When Clark wakes up a present from Mom, The F'N Suit. The rest of the episode was not as good, but really are you suprised?
The rest of the show has Tess getting burnt by Zod to only "die" later. Lois finds Dr.Swann's diary and figures out Zod isn't the Blur to have Clark rescue her. They kiss and Lois thinks its Clark. Ollie and Chloe are attacked by an unknown force after starting up a new satellite. Clark tricks Zod into revealing he killed Farora to the Kandorians. The Kandorains agree to go to this new world while Zod uses a blue K knife to kill Clark/maks himself from being teleported to the new world. Clark takes the knife to the stomach while Zod is teleported away. Clark falls into darkness with the knife in him.
Quick story, Greg Betman, Parkman from Heroes, directed the episode. He blogged the entire script early today. A fan site I go to called Kryptosite loses their fucking minds and threatened to ban anyone who spoiled the beans even in their spoiler section. I usually go there to laugh at the Chloe fans and ridiculous fan fiction. I thought the blog said Chloe died considering the early fan reaction was "I will never watch Smallville, again" bullshit. Needless to say no one really died expect Tess who I can see being brought back by Martha who was the old woman who goes into her room as well as Clark being saved by Hawkman or Martian Manhunter since the satellite was up when he fell.
I have no idea why people lost their minds including the site's owner for an episode that is fairly easy to wash away with some good writing. As a finale, it was damn good considering the last two failures. The opening is worth it and hopefully they will it pay off next season since Clark now has the suit and will probably fly in the premiere. Still, think he should have fly or had a better battle with Zod, but it was still better then last year's two second Doomsday fight and they didn't kill anyone that was part of the mythos. So, they didn't shoot themselves in the foot, so good job. A lot of shout outs to Johnathan, Lionel and the full JLA bitch situation. Its what the show should have been two years ago.

Agreed that the pre-credits opening scene was beyond awesome. | i before e

Bryan Singer did the same thing in Superman Returns. I still feel that like last season, the finale should have been 2 hours, or at least an hour and a half. The final confrontation with Zod once again left me feeling a little disappointed. I dont know, the whole thing felt a little rushed. If you're building up to a confrontation for a whole season, you need to deliver on that confrontation.
Overall this has been my favorite season thus far, and i cant wait for the next one, hoping hard that Clark dons the red and blue (and the glasses). |
