I don't think they'll be over here (tomk's last visit: 19.10.2 - Schneider: never), so head over there (board.deathvalleydriver.com). Or read on for blatant thievery...THERE YOU HAVE IT.

I worked 60 too

PAS: Hurricane Isabel knocked out Deans power so Tom and I have agreed to take over, no short fiction thought, although I had to talk Tom out of posting sections of his S+M flavored The Parkers fanfic.

TKG: I spent Isabel in El Salvadoran restaurant drinking Margaritas as we watched trees fly down the street. Central American and Jamaican restaurants all stayed open as they called us pussies.

What Worked

PAS: Shaniqua has a nice power bomb. Should wear a less revealing outfit.

TKG: Dawn Marie really bumps well. Rest of match is down below.

PAS: John Cenas rap was really great although it is a shame the WWE edited the John Ritter line. It is okay for Stephanie to equate 9/11 with her dad getting prosecuted for drugs, but not okay to make a death joke. Ritter was a comedy pro he wouldnt have minded his death being milked for wrestling heat.

TKG: I really dug Cenas raps at the beginning of his Unlimited Crew gimmick run. Then they got rid of Red dog and made Cena slow down his flow. His slowed down flow was kind of shitty as he just sounded like Henny Youngman with an 808 rimshot. But hes now mastered the slowed down rap flow. Its more New Jack Swing than Swishahouse. I dig.

PAS: Los Guerrerros v. Haas/Benjamin was match of the night. Really fun well worked tag. Chavo continues to look like primero Guerrerro. Benjamin takes everything really well and has nice offense. Hass is a fine Stan Lane, as he doesnt hurt the match he is in. The Flapjack suplex thing was a really great looking quasi blown spot. I also loved the two tone wood paneled low rider.

TKG: I dont know how people can pimp the Iron man as MOTY when its clearly not the best match on the show. Chavito comes back looking king sized. Hes really looking more and more like Chavo Sr. than ever before including a monkey flip that looked textbook Chavo. The two toned car and the Canek Mexican flag color tights also ruled hard.

PAS: Iron man match was plenty good enough to make the What Worked side of the ledger, but it wasnt that great. I think part of me just appreciates long televised wrestling matches, I remember really enjoying the 22 minute Varsity Club v. Faces of Fear match on Nitro in between Russo 1 and Russo 2. This was better then that, but not that much better. Not a second of mat wrestling for a Olympic Gold Medalist v. an NCAA champion. I dont need 15 minutes on the mat, but 3 minutes would have been nice. Also the editing killed the flow of the match, as we kept missing transitions, Lesner would be controlling, they would go to commercial and Angle would be back on offense. Also I cant stand the WWE guy does the other guys move, and this match was full of that. Angle doing the F-5 into the post set up a really great finishing sequence, but the impact of that move was limited by all the Lesner ankle locks and Angle Slams earlier in the match. I did really like the finish, and I dug the cheating Lesner stuff, including the final low blow. Both guys took big ass bumps too. I havent seen either PPV match but I do think they have a better match in them.

TKG:I am of mixed feelings on the Iron Man match. Its no surprise to me when the WWF fucks up with a guy like Rick McGraw, Taylor, Vader, Benoit, Rey, etc...I expect that, thats the way the WWf works. I have been surprised lately as the WWF has blown their stuff with Nathan Jones and the Three Minute Warning. The WWF specializes in finding ways to use those guys effectively in matches. When they no longer can do that, theyre fucked. What I kind of liked about this match was that it really layed out smartly for Nathan Jones vs. Jamal. Unfortunately, they ran it with Lesnar and Angle.

TKG: Lesnar somehow managed to develop a well executed elbowdrop and headbutts in the WWF. This match goes in the what worked column. It was better than Hart/HBK but from the match descriptions on the box and lucha board it wasnt as good as the Rayo vs. mascara Ano Dos Mill 45 minute match from Arena Coliseo last month.

What Didnt Work

TKG: Shaniquas kind of hot but I regularly get powerbombed by large black women, was less impressed than Phil with Shaniquas ring work. I also try to stay away from black women who are into that fist spinning thing. Also placing this match between two tags seemed stupid. They needed to have a heat killer match between the tag title match and the Iron Man. Didnt belong here.

PAS-Rey Jr. and Beniot would make a fun tag, but not tonight. Too short to really mean much. I like how they are pushing the Rey Jr. v. Tajiri feud. Rhino is tiny, he didnt look much taller then Rey Jr. Although he is thicker (although I dont know if he is thicker then Filthy Animal Rey Jr.)

TKG: WWE production always gets pimped but I wasnt impressed tonight. Only one time did we come back from a commercial break with the guy who was on offense before commercial break staying on offense. I did like that the backstage segment with the McMahons was really short with all the points being hit (when last I watched WWF those things went on for hours). But they really shouldnt film these things with wide shots. As none of these folks are good enough actors to pretend like they are listening between their own lines.

TKG: I LOVE HEEL STALLING! But WWE needs to hire Mitch Ryder as a road agent to teach their workers (and their refs) how to make it effective. Part of heel stalling is to engage the audience with the stall and engage the ref with it. People always accused Malenko of working in a vacuum. Brock seemed like he was stalling in a vacuum. There is no reason for the WWE to have a tough guy junior ref. The ref standing up to Brock and refusing to do any ref flustered by his own impotence spots, helped to kill any heat Brock could have gotten from his Zbyzsco stalls. Also Brock continuing to stall after hitting angle with chair, messed up the pacing. Going from stalling to methodical isnt effective.

hey thanks for posting this.

I still come around to read but havent had much to say since stopped getting TNA and you stopped posting about dance music.

I'd like to add to the what worked list.

The combo of kicker boots with garters.

The KZiM Album Cover of the Day will return some time after the election (and once it stops being so damn hot in the spare bedroom)
