I thought Smackdown was still pretty decent, but maybe a little lower than recent shows. First and foremost, where the hell did the ramp go?!?

I noticed that. I thought that no ramp was the international sign for ring raid by vehicle. Disappointed that it didn't happen.

Maybe Hogan stalled it out.

Or Booker T stole it.

Or Undertaker threw it in some clangy poles.

Who knows?

Agreed. Cena is gonna win a lot of fans with this gimmick. I'm already chock full o' Cena-cysm.

From Ruthless Agression to Cena-cysm. I like it!

John Cena made my night. I hadn't caught Smackdown! in almost four months, and it was good to see him...the rest of the show was a huge EHHHHHHHHHHH on my part.

Professional wrestling is the only sport where participants are just thrown right into the audience, and no one in the crowd thinks anything unusual is happening. Am I missing anyone? (I'm assuming that even with the WWF's absorption of WCW, they still can't retroactively claim PN News or the No Limit Soldiers.)

Do Too Cool count as rappers? I'm pretty sure they did some rap at the start when they were heels ("If you don't know me you ain't my homey.").

I also thought the show was awful for most of the night. A couple of decent things but just bluh for the majority of it.

-Cena vs. Rikishi- Okay this feud has run it's course, much like most of Rikishi feuds. I still haven't figured out if I liked Cena gimmick or not, I don't like him rapping but I do like him talking street when he's commentating, so I guess I like Cena's gimmick when it's not so forced like when he's rapping but him just acting like an anoying whity streeter. Oh there was a match, not very good.

-DeMott vs. Palumbo- Hugh Morrus can make boring matches with big guys as well, Good for him.

-Kidman vs. Eddie- I can't believe I'm saying this for an Eddie match but his ring work was outshined by Cena's commentary. Cena seems to be at his best when he's not force rapping but just talking jive, very funny. Maybe they should stop having announcers get physically involved with wrestlers because just a couple of weeks later Cena and Tazz seem very chummy, if you can't think ahead don't have your announcer get a face pop and then a few weeks later have him interplaying with that same heel. The match was good, but the highlight was easily how Tazz, Cena and Cole were interplaying.

-Marriage & Segment from hell- Do they have any clue what they are trying to do with this? Seems like every week they are just adding more crap over crap and hope something comes out of it. This stopped being funny months ago.

-Benoit/Edge v. Hass/Benjamin- Match of the night (not segment overall segment went to Eddie/Kidman because of the commentary). Real great wrestling by all, not enough to save this show but they threw us a little peanut.

-Heyman/Show interview- As good as Heyman is he still can't convince me the BigShow has a snowballs chance in hell vs. Brock. Man what a sick cut on the back of Brocks head, uh oh Matt's got a match with him, Matt you got one segment to try to cool him down and appoligize. Maybe let him have Lita for the night and he might not break you.

-Nunzio vs. Crash- I want to care, I really do. But when the Raw women are allowed to look better against semi main eventers (Trish/ Jericho, which I have no problem with) then these poor 3 shmucks are allowed to look against a big fat never waser like DeMott. How do you expect me or anyone to take them seriously. Hell I'm a smark who enjoys wrestling and was/is a fan of Noble and my interest in these guys have dropped in the last few weeks. Good Job WWE.

-Lesner vs. Matt- What an ugly cut! The show is Live is Lesner going to shoot!! Matt thanks his lucky stars that Lesner took it okay and just squashed him and Helms. The only thing memorable about this match was Lesner fighting while his head was bleeding all over the place.

-other stuff- Torrie and Kidman's been dating for a while. So why do they look like they have less chemistry together then Al and Dawn... The irony of Stepho the pop out queen telling Dawn not to get naked on TV. Plus I've never heard a crowd so apathetic for a nudity tease.

Line of the Night Funaki "Funaki feels dirty"

Well I know I'm in the minority here but I'm looking fowards to Monday nights, Smackdown is just really boring I tapped it on Thursday and I just now got around to watching it.

"I'm looking forwards to Monday nights." That's something I didn't expect a wiener to say out loud. Seriously, despite the obvious improvements of RAW in the last few weeks, we still go with Smackdown (the better of the shows for some time), only to sit through something as annoying as Torrie/Dawn Marie/Al Wilson. Hell, I remember when I maligned Stephanie's hammy abilities on the mic and in vignettes (she admitted she can really ham it up), but you know what, she's STILL light years ahead of Dawn Marie. Wow. Yup, if RAW manages to be as entertaining as it has been, I'm sure others will say the exact same thing. Besides, it's a new year. And I'm tired of sitting through weddings (courtesy of my big brother's tape of Smackdown).

Dude, there was more than a week to go before the rumble. I am sure the brawl will happen this week. Doesn't it always? At least this tells us most of the big names who are entering aren't all chummy with one another like Rock and Austin suddenly are....
