Nope, in GM Mode you can't watch the promos, unfortunately. That would no doubt have required a lot more work than the superstars already had to put in.

I got this game yesterday, and had a marathon gaming session in which I went through a season of SmackDown! with Chavo Guerrero, as a sort of tribute to Eddie.

And Eddie got involved in my season, too-- and naturally, the segments he was in were funnier than hell.

The three Hogans don't take up enough space to be forcing anyone out to be left out of the game so it doesn't bother me. I love having Myself team up with Hogan to face Hogan and Hogan. As it is the game is not even 3/4 of a full disk. I don't know what the costumes take up, but the music and videos total about 10 MB per wrestler so they could add probably another 15 or so guys safely.

The problem with trying to add more guys in is that the more time they take adding people in, the more wrestlers leave the company. Already half this game is barely on tv if they're even still working for the WWE. Also the longer it's been since they start working on wrestlers, the more new people aren't in the game, which is why I'm stuck with Jindrak and Grenier instead of MNM.

I agree that Ricky would be awesome. If they can't keep a current roster going they should at least have a couple guys working on as many legends as they can fit. Although Jake Roberts IS in the game. Apparently you have to buy him on the PSP version and then copy your game save over to unlock him, which if true is just plain stupid.

Two main gripes:

- TOO MANY REVERSALS. Yes, I know that there are sliders. It still sucks though.

- FUCKING EARL HEBNER. Keeps disqualifying me when I accidentally roundhouse him.

...and Austin's head wobble is creepy.

Youse guys play online at all? Should there be a the-w heavyweight title defended only at the-w sanctioned events?

Maybe one of them neato all plastic belts that look like they were picked up at a Toys R Us.

The CAW system, while not as deep as previous games, is still damn fine. I've pulled off a dam nfine Mariko Yoshida and Manami Toyota and even have decent enough movesets for both including Finishers (had t osub a kate-hadjime for the Sankei Sleeper for Mari-chan).

The game play is fun and we've had a score of super dramatic matches at my place for various create titles.

We had to tell one of my roommates to stop squashing everyone because he was killing the drama rating on our matches, he listened and now our Belt values skyrocket (The Gold Spatula Jumped $5000 in value after a draw in an ironman match).

Not the best game but damn, it can only get better with the next edition.

I'm having one hell of a hard time finding this game for the PSP...has the release date been delayed in Canada? I was told it was to be released here on December 15th, but I've checked about seven places in and around the Lower Mainland, and I'm not finding it.

I don't know anything about the release dates, let alone any delays, but I imagine that Christmas probably screws up and delays more than just the post office.

One thing that sometimes used to work for me was going to the local Blockbuster or Roger's videos and renting the games. I don't know how, but if the release date passes but no games are in stores (for whatever reason), there's a couple around me that get games sometimes a week before they're in stores for sale. It might be worth a check if you need a fix to get you through a few days until the stores are stocked.

I found the game; the useless people at the Superstore near my girlfriends' place had it behind the counter, stating that they didn't have enough space for all their games. Funny, the people at EB said the same thing. Erstwhile, there were tonnes of copies of dumb movies like ARE WE THERE YET ready to be bought.

But, what a great game!

I got it for Christmas and so far I LOVE IT. I too am using Christian for season mode, and even made him an NWA title belt to defend in Exhibition matches. (Too bad you can't bring created belts into a season.) I even made a decent representation of myself, but I've only begun to play with the CAW options.

My favorite little element so far is the ability to bank experience points and use them to boost anyone's attributes, not just the character you're using for season mode. Now I don't have to take my weak-as-a-lamb CAW through season mode in a vain attempt to raise his attributes.

Absolutely. Also, once you finish one Raw and one SD season, you get unlimited points, so you can make whoever you want.

Some people find this to not be challenging enough, but I like making CAWs (especially teams and stables) and don't particularly like season mode, so it works great for me.

My only real complaint with the game is that it's WAY too easy to get disqualified -- that darn ref is ALWAYS in the way.

If you beat the season mode twice (once on RAW, and once on Smackdown) you get unlimited experience, so you can totally max out your stats.

I've beaten the game twice, on Smackdown with Rene Dupree, and on Raw, with Randy Orton...and some of the voice acting is incredible. The Coach, of all people, was tremendous during his spots in the game (his work as the GM was awesome) but Eric Bischoff? His voicework was just terrible.

My big problem with SvsR2006 for the PSP is that I can't seem to make more than two outfits for my CAW. There are three outfit options: Cutscene, Entrance, and Wrestling: and after I create one, I'm told that I can't create another. Something to do with no space or something. I dunno.

Oh, and one problem: I very much dislike having to automatically upgrade my firmware everytime a new game comes up, and not seeing or having any documentation as to WHY I have to available at my disposal. I had to with GTA:LCS, and I had to with SvR2006. Now, if there was a note saying "to play this game, PSP system 2.5 is required, and will be installed if you're not using it" and a note explaining WHY its' required....I'd be happy.

I just finished my first RAW season with my CAW and won the title, but my title victory doesn't float over into the next season?

What's up with that? When I clicked on the World Title Belt in my trophy case it told me something about not being able to locate the record and reset it back to being Batista.

Did I make a mistake or is this just the game--you don't get to remain the champion season after season like in the previous games?

If that's the game, then that sucks big time. What's the point of playing? Racking up useless points and knick-knacks? I don't care to have Carlito's half chewed apple.

It seems to me that the more bells and whistles they add to the game, they get rid of the cool things that were good about the last games (i.e.--being able to ask for a title shot, picking who's heel/face, rosters, etc.)

Man...another wrestling game that fails to live up to expectations. I wonder if they consciously make these games less than perfect so people will purchase the next installment?

I went through RAW with Muhammhed Hassan and won the title. In Exhibition matches and in my title history, Hassan is the champion. I haven't tried starting a second RAW season, though, so I don't know if the champions carry over in Season Mode. I kind of doubt that it would, since that would screw up their pre-made story lines and voice overs.

But, yeah, the champs at the end of the Season are still the champs in my belt history, so setting back to Batista must be a glitch on your game.

Behold the "Wise" Words of Renegade Raine, the Bishounen Hunter:

I just got the game two days ago, and I've been having fun making characters (all of my characters from e-feds, my ninja girl character, and GAY FAGGO who is a sight to behold). And I love that you can customize just about every aspect of your character's entrance.

But damn...fighting against Mankind and Undertaker in the Hell in a Cell match was HARD. I spent a whole hour on that match before Mankind FINALLY tapped out.

Spoilerish question for those who have completed a Raw season:

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
In the "Uneasy Allies" storyline, everything led up to a World Heavyweight Title match against Triple H in a cage. I ended up losing the match, and afterward, Bischoff declared the title vacant. I never went back and re-played the match in order to win it. My question is, would the Bischoff thing still have happened if I won? Would I have been stripped of the title instead of HHH? Or would I have been able to keep it? Just curious.

Yea, you would have been stripped of the title anyway. And that's not the only time you get a belt taken away from you for nothing. It kinda defeats the purpose of playing if belts are more for storyline than something you can actually win and defend.

The CAWs can't hold belts. But the other ones can be defended. Don't ask me why.

A fun, sexy time.
