From the Observer:

Dark matches:
Spike Dudley beat Tyson Dux
Funaki and London beat Nunzio and Shannon Moore (could be on Velocity)

Velocity:
Hardcore Holly beat Robby McAllister
Kenzo Suzuki beat Charlie Haas

Smackdown:
Bashams beat Eddie and Booker by DQ when the ref saw Eddie nail one of the Bashams with the belt. They teased dissension with the faces, but then Eddie ended up saving Booker from a postmatch beatdown

Royal Rumble qualifying matches:
Scotty 2 Hotty beat Akio
John Cena beat Rene Dupree
Rey Mysterio beat Chavo Guerrero

The main angle throughout the show was Teddy Long making Kurt Angle apologize for last week and Big Show waiting for Angle by the door. JBL said that they should form an alliance to take out Angle, Show agreed... then in the main event segment, it turns out to be a SWERVE~! as the Cabinet and Team Angle v2.0 beat down Show in the ring. Also, Carlito got Heidenreich to sign his petition, and a Taker promo aired for the casket match.

Dark match: Undertaker beat JBL and Orlando Jordan in a handicap casket match.

Sounds pretty much like last week: one decent, longish match to open the show and then 90 minutes of crap. (Well, Rey/Chavo could be good, but something tells me they're going to give it exactly as much time as they do Scotty/Akio.)

I'm baffled as to why Scotty 2 Hotty is not only working in the WWE but entered into the Rumble. I saw him on Velocity, and his only saving grace as a commodity is the still-popular Worm. Beyond that, he's nowhere near the performer I remember when he was a crusierweight working against Brian Christopher, TAKA, etc.

I dunno, it should be better than last week. The JBL/Angle swerve is roughly 100 times better than the Joy crapola, even if does form part of the same angle. If JBL, Show and Angle can bring it in terms of believability, I can see it working as a show-long arc.

I'm delighted. I'm pretty pessimistic about what their ratings will actually look like - I think those quick sellouts are a lot of fly-ins and that's making people misjudge how much interest there actually is - but I hope they do great.
