Eddie Guerrero came out and challenged Bradshaw to a re-match. Bradshaw was about to agree when Kurt Angle interupted. Angle made Eddie, RVD and Mysterio vs Bradshaw and the Dudley Boys for later in the show.
1) Rico and Haas defeated Stamboli and Nunzio. Good reaction for Rico and Jackie.
2) Billy Kidman wrestled Akio to a no contest. Mordecai ran in to destroy both men.
3) Chavo Classic defeated Spike Dudley and Chavo Jr to become the new Cruiserweight champion.
4) Booker T pinned Funaki. Before the match, Booker said he wanted a re-match with Taker.
5) Rene Dupree beat John Cena via count out.
Eddie is jumped by JBL in the back.
6) JBL and The Dudley Boys defeated Eddie Guerrero RVD and Rey Mysterio. Eddie only came out for the finish as he was attacked by Bradshaw prior to the match. Very good TV match. Lots of heat. When Eddie finally came out, he hit the triple verticals on D-Von before collapsing. Bradshaw quickly tagged himself in and gained a pin on Eddie.
Ok, so Bradshaw's push continues with no end in sight and Taker doesn't even bother to show up after burying Booker T. Chavo Classic as champ can be cool and Cena/Dupree is going on, so you have to take the good with the bad.

Grrrr.....
Looks like it could be a decent show. However, Chavo Classic winning the cruiser title, while a million times better than Jacqueline winning the belt, is still bad. In the span of 2 weeks, we've had a woman and a 50 year old (?) non-wrestler hold the belt. Blah.
I'm assuming Taker-Booker T will be like Taker-Cena, where Taker wins clean at the PPV, there's a rematch, and Taker's next feud (A-Train/Mordecai) costs him the win. Because, y'know, Smackdown losses give so much more elevation than PPV. [/sarcasm]

I honestly thought that Chavo Classic was just another IWC nickname for Chavo Sr, like Jericho (Y2J + 4) or Bradshaw (Jibble). But it's real, and I love it. Every time I hear that name said it cracks me up. As far as him being cruiserweight champion goes, ehh...
He looks like he's over the weight limit, first of all. Second, the title's still recovering from Jacqueline. Finally, and this is the kicker, Chavo only had the belt for (technically) 4 DAYS!!! Or, literally, 2 DAYS! Not cool. I like Chavo a lot, and it seems though they're not giving him much leg room in the cruiser division. Where's Paul London when you need him?
Hmm, so things are pretty much status quo on Smackdown, so another night at the J-O-B with the VCR off.

Agreed. When it gets so that even Kurt F'N Angle is boring, you know something's terribly screwed up here.

They've made Kurt into such a bland heel, it's depressing. Here's a great character relegated to doing a poor man's Eric Bischoff. Kurt is NEVER gonna be an evil, snarling heel. He's the guy who thinks everyone loves him! His best work are his eternal looks of surprise when he gets booed.
I have no idea why they just don't go with that.

Who was the last World Heavyweight Champion to slum around with the cruiserweight title?! You wouldn't expect them to do that with Benoit or Eddy, wouldya?

On Velocity, apparently.
I'm curious to see the television debut of Mordecai, since I didn't spend my hard-earned on the pay-per-vomit.
Here's something I've noticed. I don't love Eddie anymore. What? I mean I've always thought he was a great wrestler and all, but I think I just don't care about his character (which I realize is pretty much just Eddie) anymore. I dunno... It's probably just JBL just casting his flabby, heat-killing shadow over him. Eddie needs something better to do, and Smackdown needs a top heel you love to hate, instead of one you just hate.
I don't think I'm the only one who thinks SD has been wearing very thin of late. Every week, I seem to catch my self saying, "Oh, this again."
It's funny (or sad). Just a few weeks ago, I was thinking about the WWE and it's history of handling cruiserweights. And I thought to myself; "They've really done a decent job of not fucking with these guys over the past 2 or 3 years." However, in a span of two short weeks, they've de-valued the Cruiserweight Title almost to the extent that WCW did in 2000. So now the Cruiserweight Title is being feuded upon by Chavo Guerrero Sr. and Jacqueline. Oklahoma and Madusa would be rolling over in their graves, if they were dead.
The answer to WWE's financial problems...
Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Oh God no! I heart Classic, but that's just stoo pid. I think I'll just wake up for the Main Event this week...
Errr...yeah, this is a horrible idea. After all, Classic has been getting amazing heel heat ever since he arrived. After all, Chavo and Chavo Classic have been highlights of SD for the past few months (even on nights when SD didnt suck) and after all, for all we fucking now it happens "by accident" and it is going to provide us with several weeks of great Chavo Classic/Chavo jr moments..
For once I agree with those that say "FUCKING WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE IT PLAYED OUT ON TV!!!!" It sounds like a nice idea, it will get the crowd into it.
As for Chavo jr having the belt for 4 (or 2) days...So what. When he regains it he will be known as the Umptieth time CW champ, instead Umptieth time minus one. And no, he gets no leg room. Right..Instead of having him work a few guys that have no heat he works hot angles with Rey, Jacqueline (admit it, the crowd was into it!) and now with his own dad. They made him look like a strong character (=total evil asshole) against Jacky and imo it actually strengthened his position on the ladder regarding carrying angles and promos. Him and Classic feuding will have the same result. Chavo imo is on his way of becoming a bigger heatmachine than he ever was..(not counting riding wooden horses)

Isn't this a week too late? They had been building to this match for a month, and this would have been a great opportunity for Bradshaw to get a win (cheap or not) over Eddie before the ppv to prove himself as a true contender. Instead he only wrestles twice, once against a jobber (I'm not calling Paul London a jobber (though he probably is), I'm call ing the "champion of Mexico" one), and once against Rey (while they have established it as believable that Rey can beat most heavyweights, said heavyweight does not look like a more credible threat by beating Rey). So why did they wait until after the PPV to have Bradshaw pin Eddie? Even if they are continuing the feud into the GAB, a Bradshaw win LAST week would help sell Judgment Day, and not cancel out the selling of GAB.

Actually, they don't recap what happened after the match. Namely, Taker coming out and tombstoning JBL.
