The Bashams beat Mideon and Gangrel, under their real names.
Norman Smiley beat a guy whose name I didn't catch. The crowd was into Smiley.
Velocity:
Charlie Haas, with Jackie, beat Sakoda.
Johnny Stamboli beat The Black Nature Boy Scoot Andrews.
Hardcore Holly beat Mark Jindrak.
Smackdown:
The show opened with John Cena demanding an apology from Undertaker based off of what happened last week. Kurt Angle came out instead, and made Cena vs. Undertaker tonight's main event.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. beat nine other guys (the usual Cruiserweights) to win a title shot against Rey Mysterio at Sunday's PPV. Good match.
John Layfield was talking with Angle. JBL wanted Eddie Guerrero tired for Sunday so Angle made a match where Guerrero would wrestle Luther Reigns tonight.
Hardcore Holly and Mordecai had a brief brawl around the arena. Because of this, they will wrestle at the PPV.
Kenzo Suzuki was DQ'd against Billy Gunn when Mrs. Kenzo thre salt into Gunn's eyes. I can't make this up. They will have a rematch at the PPV on Sunday.
In the back, Sable and Torrie Wilson insulted each other to prepare of the PPV.
Rene Dupree beat Rob Van Dam after ramming him into the metal part of the turnbuckle.
Eddie Guerrero beat Luther Reigns after Bradshaw ran in to set up their PPV match.
This will shock you.....The Undertaker beat John Cena. At least it was a back and forth match. Paul Heyman came out after the match was over and used the urn to get Undertaker to do what he wants.
GOD, this sounds horrible. Talk about last minute booking!
Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn.
So this clean job is Taker getting back the dirty job he did to Cena many months ago on SmackDown...after Cena jobbed clean to Undertaker on PPV, right? God. At least he didn't beat Eddie.
Par for the course for SmackDown. Skip as usual. Maybe DEAN~! will be funny.
So, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?
The same thing we do every night, Pinky: Try to take over the world!
Billy Gunn and Baldcore Holly BOTH get singles matches at the PPV? PASS!
If UT is supposedly under Heyman's control, then why still have UT/Dudleyz on the card? How blatantly can you foreshadow UT turning on Heyman? And I know John Cena's losing a lot of steam. Who thought that jobbing him cleanly to UT would help?
Enjoy the fresh taste of Chavo Classic and New Chavo! (Disclaimer: Exposure to Chavo Classic and/or New Chavo may lead to offbeat shenanigans)
I'd pretend to be all smarky-smark-smark and whine about Cena losing to Undertaker (clean?)...but who really cares? Cena is about as interesting as a pile of dirty laundry right now. At least the Undertaker-Heyman thing is mildly compelling.
Hooray for the return of salt throwing! Ancient Chinese secret, huh?
Yeah, what's the big deal about Cena jobbing? It's part of a bigger angle, since Cena isn't really in one yet. Cena will likely get his heat "back" by retaining at the BASH anyway. And if he drops the US Title, that's fine also. As much as he's lost his edge, he's still more over now than back then.
Who cares if he lost one match? Let it go and watch the show before you complain. Anybody who keeps track of wins and losses needs to find another hobby, because it's obvious that not even WWE keeps track of that crap.
The lack of quality depth shines through when Bob Holly and Billy Gunn both get PPV single matches, a month after they mysteriously were able to jump from Velocity tag team to a PPV tag title match. Since it doesn't specify, is it safe to presume that Taker/Cena was non-title? Eddie continues his mid-card World Title stretch.
Are we allowed to use the voices in our heads as sources?
Neither shows look particularly good. The cruiser battle royal could be decent, provided it doesn't get 2 minutes for the entire thing.
I'm interested to see how Eddie/Luther turns out pre-Bradshaw run-in.
And why is Jindrak jobbing to Holly? They're giving Jindrak a push on Velocity, he's getting comfortable w/ the narcissist gimmick, and is starting to display some good charisma. What good does jobbing him to Holly do, just so Holly can job to Mordecai?

Both Gangrel and Rodney Mack back in a week's time. Be still my heart. Gangrel had the best entrance EVAH (from music to blood spew).
And I can think of worse ways to get rid of Paul Bearer than burying him alive at the PPV. He's not really doing anything but carting around the urn, which any other under-used performer could handle.

They have been referring to a "higher power" for Mordecai. Why not make that person Gangrel? He makes it rain blood, for crying out loud.
He's got the touch, he's got the power. He's Rodimus Prime and everyone else is Bumblebee.

Not just matches -- Matches with Kenzo Sazuki and Mordecai!
Seriously, who the fuck was looking at the Great American Bash card and said, "You know what would make this show better? Billy Gunn vs. Kenzo Sazuki!"

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

I'll bet it was more like, "You know what would make this show 3 hours long? Billy Gunn vs. Kenzo Sazuki!"

Sure we COULD watch the show first, but I choose to complain.
It's nice to see Undertaker not being overly protective of his spot. I'm sure it's just part of a larger plan and one day Cena will get that clean job back and ONE day Undertaker will magically stop being an insecure old wrestler instead of embarrassing new guys with pull-up covers on PPVs and making their offense look weak and ineffectual and one day Undertaker will retire and become a MMA champion and make Ken Shamrock tap out in Las Vegas and one day Undertaker will divorce Sara and change that neck tattoo into a lovely floral pattern or perhaps a topographical map of Texas and one day Undertaker's hair will grow back out and he'll bring back the purple top hat and silver boots for his final run and it will be awesome because one day the Undertaker will do a job and give somebody a high profile win just like countless guys did for him when he debuted in 1991 and one day the Berzerker will come back and stab the Undertaker with his fucking sword like he tried to do that one time during Superstars of Wrestling.

Hey, at least Suzuki and Mordecai have stepped up from squashing cruiserweights to beating heavyweights no one cares about. Maybe eventually they'll wrestle someone significant.

On one hand, I can see why they want to use certain guys as cannon fodder for the new talent. On the other, this is hardly The Undertaker dismantling Jimmy Snuka, in that I don't know how much beating Bob Holly or Billy Gunn is going to do for them.

You know Shem, that might be the best observation in this thread.
Dammit all, I didn't even know about it. I bet Kurt would be really useful in this capacity. He could probably grab a lot of stuff. Then again, he might just walk around and snicker that THEY don't have any gold medals.
