If they want to have Book interject some cheating, have him nail Holly in the nuts to set up the Book End. I don't see the logic behind protecting Bob Holly.

Well, if they are building up Eddie/Bradshaw for JD, then it will be some time until Booker gets his shot at the title. You do want to keep Booker strong, but he does have to be in a feud that will take awhile but that he can ultimately win.

Booker wouldn't win in a feud with Taker. They are also protecting Cena, so there are not many options left available. A feud with Holly is not the worst thing in the world, but they have to kinda act like Holly could beat the Book. I don't have a problem with this, as long as Booker wins the blowoff match convincingly (and I hate Holly, so imagine my mixed feelings at defending him).

"Okay, he kinda got a push as the hardcore champ with the “Texas Hardcore Title” that turned him into one of the most annoying babyfaces in the company, and had him working dark matches and Heat tapings for months. If I recall, it was rumored that he was the one who cut Michael Hayes’ ponytail, or something."

He was Austin's on-off tag team partner whilst he was still around, he was the only man made to look good in the dying Hardcore division, and he was slated to be a part of the eight-man America Vs. UnAmerica match at Unforgiven 2002. And he wasn't put on dark matches and Heat, he suffered an injury (shoulder, I think) that put him out til May 2003, which is when they admitted that his pre-injury singles push hadn't worked and put him back together with Faarooq. He wasn't depushed in any sense of the word, and when you consider that the other two major names involved in the rumors-Scott Hall and Curt Hennig-were given their walking papers two days later, if they were punishing him they probably wouldn't done something a little more extreme than giving him lots of screentime.

Ah yes, the glory days when every RAW main event was Austin/Bradshaw vs. some version of the nWo. Shudder.

Anyway, it looks like we're being set up for a feud between RVD and Haas. Hopefully they build up Haas as a major contender so he doesn't get Jannetty-ed by Benjamin's push on RAW.

I'd like to see RVD vs Booker and then have Holly feuding with Haas. That way Haas would get a push as well as establishing Booker as a upper card heel.

If there's any guy that should be used to make someone else look good, it's not RVD. Hopefully this one blows over quick with each guy going on to feud with others better suited to their styles. I would love to see RVD go heel and start mouthing off to all of the face cruisers about how he could beat any one of them, and have it all culminate in a Rey/RVD feud for the summer. I like thebadguy's suggestion of pairing up Haas with Holly to showcase that strategy and mat tatics can win out against a roughneck like Bob.

If HHH stays on Smackdown and becomes Eddy's next feud, everyone bitches because they figure the title will switch hands.

Assumably you people want Booker T as the next feud, but maybe just maybe they're saving that for a bigger show? Perhaps? (Perhaps not, but it's still POSSIBLE).

So Bradshaw gets a new gimmick and now everyone's getting their period because he's doing a main? I don't get it. Nobody seriously buys him as a world's champion and it doesn't sound like the bookers have those thoughts either. So he and his for-now interesting gimmick are used to get Eddy over. What's the big deal?

I mean, I'm sorry Bradshaw doesn't BRING~! the WORKRATE~! but if they make him look credible now, it'll make Eddy look credible for beating him at Backlash. And I bet they have other matches on the card too!

Well what do you want from the guy? All he's been is a cowboy. Even when he was an Acolyte he was a cowboy Acolyte. Cowboy with money > regular cowboy. But they should have made his character get rich off ERL. Black Gold(dust). Texas Pee. or OR a top-flight seller of propane and propane accessories. God bless Texas stereotypes. Yeehaw!

Backlash is a throwaway PPV. Wouldn't you rather have Booker T or RVD challenge for the title at a big show instead of the bounce-back girlfriend? Sure Bradshaw sucks my butt; however, he's not the worst news I've heard all day in a main event. That one still goes to Hardwhore Holly.

It's also a RAW PPV. This will be for Judgment Day in June. Get with it!

Oh. Wight. Judgement Gay.

Is it a sure-fire thing that they'll do Eddie-Bradshaw as the final match? Not that I can think of any others on that card. Taker-Booker? Not bloomin' likely, matey. Something with Cena? RVD? Man this whole show's going to suck.

My faith in mankind has been restored...my guy kicks nine kinds of ass!!! Let these two feud if the shit is gonna go down like it did tonight...sweet mother!!

Everytime he's given a decent challenger...hell...he even made Ryhno look good once...Hardcore pulls it out. The crowd was chanting for him and he was all over Booker like a fat kid on a smartie. Kudos to Booker as well...he showed his shit too and I think the people are feeling the heal heat...a beautiful match IMHO and in the opinions of the folks watching it would seem.

And SS...they didn't protect Holly...they let a good match go and Booker DID win via cheat tactics...don't start hatin'...it's a fresh start brotha'

Cheers to you Bob...for making your detractors eat their words and your fans mark out big-time,

Erin

I've yet to see SD (doesn't air until Saturday in Philly), but I did read Holly kicked out of the Book End, which is ridiculous. They should be building that as Book's finisher, not letting Holly (or anyone else) kick out of it on SD.

Not that I disagree with you about booking Booker strongly, but they kinda worked themselves into a corner by having him proclaim himself to be too good for SD. If they gave him lots of clean wins after that it would give credence to him saying that Raw was the better show and make SD look inferior.

I suppose they could have given him a run of wins through which he became more and more cocky and obnoxious, but that would almost inevitably led to an 'is there anybody left?' promo, which in turn would lead to Taker coming out and squishing him. And that would probably be 'a bad thing' ;)

Haha, great idea. But you would absolutley have to bring back Nikoli Volkoff into the mix, so he and Moore could do their rendition of the Soviet national anthem.
