Always love a tournament... but hell Piper's Pit is back baby! This could rock!
RIP Curt Hennig: Yeah, they call me a redneck, but you know---that's a beautiful thing!
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon. Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it. But where in the world is there in the world A man so extroardinaire?
Smackdown actually looks pretty great for the next few weeks. Cena vs. Taker and Benoit vs. Rhyno, next week and we get Taker vs. Rey, Cena vs. Eddie. This is how you build Cena up, I like this move. Piper's Pit, baby, WOOOO!!!! You just can't beat that. I have to see if Sable still looks hot, remember she could wrestle too to a point, so its not all bad. At least they seem to making progress while Raw has been spinning in its wheels forever. Lets admitt without Rock, Austin or Goldberg, its same show since SummerSlam.
A Fan- Ok, a made a good decision with sticking with just Smackdown, now if this thing was live.
Originally posted by geemoneyHey, if they're gonna use Piper, doing an interview segment to (hopefully) put over other wrestlers is the best way to do it.
That is the ONLY way that this will be a 'thumbs up' in my book. I know those sit down interviews with JR really used to get talent over and hopefully Piper's Pit can do the same thing. But Piper is all about himself so I wonder if he will allow some one else to get over on HIS segnment. I must admit, I am having NWO Nitro flashbacks already.
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
I'm psyched to see Piper's Pit, but I have a feeling it's not going to last very long. Vince will probably want the segments to be HEAVILY scripted, and Piper might not take to that. Of course, it is Smackdown, and they can edit any time he goes off script. I for one hope he does stick to the script, because when he goes off on his own he makes nooooo sense.
So Austin does not show up on SMackdown! this week. That's pretty interesting to me. Lets look at the possibilities.
- he really is hurt and is taking time off to heal.
- they're really going through with the old management vs Austin story again. If this is true then who does Bischoff have to face Austin? Rocky is busy with GOldberg. HHH is still sucking all possible heat from Booker. Ummm Bautista? I really don't see the point of "firing" him from Raw if he's not moving to Smackdown. Once again it looks like the writers have again found nothing for him to do.
- Maybe I'm jumping the gun and he'll show up to take on one of the losers from the title tourney. I just don't see the point of taking Austin off of tv unless he's injured.
Ben Miller posted a good column at the Observer site about why this ratings decline was inevitable the way the split was handled: http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=5021 (I don't know how to link, sorry).
