Sometimes it's the little things. But in this case it's the big fat thing.
Am I alone in getting a kick out of Big Show's selling and subsequent reaction to the 619/Enzugiri from the ring post? Little guy makes much bigger guy literally fall flat on his ass - big guy is embarrassed and then pissed off.
I know most people don't dig him or are particularly looking forward to the match at Backlash - but it's things like this that make me like the Big Show. He played off the fact that he was dropped by a guy 2 feet shorter and 300 pounds lighter almost to perfection. A bit too much Sid-like in the acting, but great nonetheless.
No matter how much he is a hoss...he's one of WWE's greatest hoss's.
I watched him on Connan, and man he does have charisma, and lots of it. He's finally playing into his personality a bit,a big giant and he knows it. His personality is more BFG but still...good point Kawshen.
Yet ANOTHER confession for me to make! Like Vince, I also have an affinity for big hosses. Big Show has tons of potential and we don't even know it! He is what he is, a giant, and he should continue to be one. To tell the truth, I look forward to the Mysterio vs. Big Show match at Backlash.
Oh, and I'm surprised no one commented on him holding Mysterio with one hand!
Seeing Mysterio hit TBS with the 619 was easily the highlight of the night. Well, either that, or seeing Albert overact after being hit with the Tajiri Mist.
Show's reaction was priceless, and I'm wondering why he's being saddled with such a dunderhead like AssTrain. He could be doing so much better. Give him the stick, and give him a chance to be charismatic. When he was on SNL with the Rock ages ago, he was the best! I loved his humour, and he seemed really comfortable on screen.
I missed the Conan show when he was on...wonder how that turned out.

It was one of the funniest Conans ever. Big Show was funny, Tom Selleck was funny and they did a CLASSIC bit with Sue the Sex Lady. Selleck and the Show ended up testing vibrators by putting them under their noses.
Over 1100 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!
Hosses do get some inappropiate scorn. If Big Show were to do a powerslam and then a powerbomb and sell decently, everyone would still hate him, but if say Spanky (who is the man of course) did it, everyone would LOVE it. Personally, I really got into that tag match. The one handed Military Press was INSANE. Sure Rey weighs only like 140ish, but to hold him up with one friggin' hand is insane. Also, Albert's finally getting some cool moves with that Camel Clutch slam thingy. Big Show is one funny bastard too.
Rorschach: "None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me."
Yeah, Big Show was on last night. Him and A-Train are really starting to grow on me again. A-Train is actually fairly impressive in the ring, his matches against Benoit in particular were pretty good. (of course, Benoit can carry anybody to a decent match, but I think A-Train held his own)

I said it before and I will say it again: they need to use Big Show in more backstage sketches. The guy is awesome in the comedy department. He has the timing and the facial expressions. A while back, I posted a thread about using the Big Show as a tag partner with The Hurricane (don't ask me to link it I do not know how!). I still believe that a angle with Big Show as the reluctant side kick to the Hurricane would be awesome. It would be even better if Linda let them go back and forth between Smackdown and RAW because they are the WWE's resident super heores. They could make the tag scene on both sides much more enjoyable and it would give Big Show a purpose while keeping the Hurricane in the spotlight.
Big brother representative: Now, Mr. Simpson, may I ask why you're here? Homer's Brain: Don't say revenge. Don't say revenge. Homer: Ummm... revenge? Homer's Brain: Okay, that's it. I'm outta here. [Sound FX: step step step step step... slam]
I hate this angle. Big Show is REALLY BIG and Rey is REALLY SMALL. Ok, we get it. It's been done a zillion times already. Now let Rey go back to facing people that he can have great matches with.

Yes, exactly. Like Show or not, I am not looking foward to Mysterio vs Show for this reason. How this match in a competitive aspect possibly be all that entertaining? These matches are rarely entertaining.
Yes, Show has finally come back into the lime light as the big guy with a big mean and nasty attitude. Yet for a limited time back in WCW Show and Rey Rey had each others backs but when they mentioned teaming them up Show said no. Something to that effect so I'm going to be intrested to see if they start another Giant Killing angle for Rey Rey at Backlash.
I have loved Big Show since he was on that SNL episode. It's a shame that it took something outside of the ring to appreciate him so much. I think a part of my dislike for him was the WWE's fault in not knowing what to do with him, which accounted for him 1,000 heel/face turns. But whenever I hear that "WELLLLL.... It's the Big Show" kick up, I... well, I... mark out.
I love the way he sold for Mysterio as well. The guy IS pure comedic gold. The last live event I went to, this was back in January, he was feuding with Brock and Brock blasted him with a nasty chair shot. The Big Show did one of those cartoonish drunken man/belly dancer (trust me, there's really no other way to describe this) falls and everyone in the whole damn arena cracked up. Brock even had to laugh and shake his head.

Sounds like the classic Terry Funk stumble.
Show doing the parody gimmick in 2000 was GOLD. I don't recall many complaining about his PPV squash on Angle during that time, because we were all too busy marking out for the Showster.
WWE has wasted his potential for the most part as "The Giant of WWE". So I'm in agreement with others that they should play to his strengths. And frankly, comedy's one of his best.
As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?

Well, there was a PPV a year or two back where it was Lance Storm & The Hurricane, vs. the Dudley Boyz vs. Big Show & Spike Dudley vs. another team. IT was the first match of the night, and I don't remember ever laughing so hard in my life, as Spike DUdley did a plancha or a dive to the floor...off the Big Show's shoulders...while he was still on the ring ! That was amazing!
I do say, however, that the Big Show was great with Billy Gunn...kind of like Bill and Ted, of sorts. Wonder why that never worked out.

That spot was IMMEDIATELY followed up with The Big Show getting a big goofy look of inspiration on his face...and he started to climb the turnbuckle - with the idea he was going to do a plancha onto the 6 guys on the floor.
I have occassionally (and by occassionally I mean All The Time) posted that The Big Show is awesome. I'm glad to see a HANDFUL of people jumping on board.

What? No masturbating panda bear or the guy that says 'pubes'? That's almost a let down.

I have to agree...he is fantastic.

I agree with your observation, but I also disagree with it. Consider Batista's promo on Thursday/Friday: he's filled with hate and rage and wanted to take it out on someone...and that someone was Kennedy.
