Join me on an incredible journey of bodyslams and bikinis. It's time for The Great Thomas SmackDown! Report!

Rikishi vs. Guerrero I can't believe Chavo countered all of Rikishi's moves. As for Chavo's ass.... EEEECCHH!

Torrie Wilson: She rubs herself. Later, CRZ will rub HIMSELF!

Bikini Match: Nidia in a bikini, now I'm rubbing MYSELF!!!

Billy/Chuck vs. Noble/Tajiri: I just love these impromptu matches! Now, Nidia gets spanked, and now I'm REALLY RUBBING MYSELF! OOHHHHH YEEEEESSSSSS!!!

Funaki et Lesnar: Funaki, SmackDown! NUMBA ONE! Announca! stares at Brock's man-boobs.

Funaki et Lesnar, again: I knew it. Funaki gets into the ring with Lesnar and gets his ass kicked. But DAMN, he bumps like a MAD MOFO! Funaki rules.

Guerrero vs. Edge: Watch Edge avenge his loss at Unforgiven. This crowd is alive compared to the crowd on RAW! Even a HOLY SHIT ref bump by Mike Sparks! Too bad we must go to commercial break.

UPN News at 10:00: Stone Cold Steve Austin back in the "romance ring?" What does THAT mean?

Guerrero vs. Edge, cont.: Look! New Ref! A bunch more HOLY SHIT bumps, and "EDDIE!" chants galore! HOLY SHIT! OMG TOP-OF-THE-LADDER SIT-OUT POWERBOMB! OMG! HOLY SHIT! BUMPS GALORE! OMG EDGE-A-CUTION OFF THE TOP OF THE LADDER! OMG OMG OMG! This was pure madness! Even a standing ovation for Eddie! Which he deserves. Because he rules! Five-star match. I repeat, FIVE-STAR MATCH!

Tekken 4: Damn straight. Tekken commercials rule.

Benoit et Loyd: Look! Poetry!

Wrestlemania XIX Press Conference: WMXIX is coming to Seattle.

Undertaker vs. Hardy: SQUAAAASH MAAAAATCH!

Undertaker Bleeds: Look! Graphic footage!

The Main Event: Meet Kevin Nash at the Alltel Arena! Suplexes Galore! Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Benoit, jobber to the stars!

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and I'm off to read what DEAN will have to say about this.

I loved the main event. I liked the way it built slowly. Pretty much all the combinations were entertaining to me.

I liked how at first both Angle and Benoit basically just threw Rey out of the ring like an annoyance, and then went at it like madmen on the mat. Then as the match progresed, Rey got his moves in, building slowly, getting near falls but never the three count. By the end of the match Rey is doing amazing spots on both Angle and Benoit, and sometimes both at once. Then finally he breaks up the crossface and gets the win. Pretty damn good job of giving him a big clean win without diminishing either of the other opponents.

I could watch Angle and Benoit and Mysterio all day. Here's an idea: Why not move everybody but those three to RAW? I'm sure they could come up with some plot device. Then everything on Smackdown would revolve around matches between them. You know, Angle vs. Benoit, Benoit vs. Mysterio, Angle vs. Mysterio, Angle vs. Benoit vs. Mysterio. I think this is a pretty decent idea.

Judging by tonight, I think we can keep Eddie and Edge too. ;-).

PS that tag match was the sleeper of the show. Billy was an AWESOME face in peril.

Tonight was just a good show all around. Even the gratuitous TnA led to real wrestling! Tag match was great. Benoit, Angle and Rey Rey were excellent. And Eddie and Edge... HOLY SHIT!

Oh, and watching Matt get his ass kicked is always a good time.

A laugh out loud moment was when Billy was in the Indian Death Lock, and Jamie chopped him... Billy popped up with fire in his eyes and Jamie looked like he had shit his pants.

OK, fine, but they have to wrestle each other all the time.

I think we can let Edge wrestle Angle occasionally and Rey wrestle Eddie.

Okay, so the show just started on the West Coast, but I have to ask:

Why, of ALL the things that happened at Unforgiven (the Taker/Brock title match, especially) did they start off the show with the Bischoff stinkface?

Because Stephie wants to make a mockery of Bisch on live TV, for those of us who didn't see Unforgiven.

I think they opened with that to show Smackdown getting over on Raw? To make this show look superior.

Smackdown was great tonight, Eddy/Edge, Angle/Benoit/Rey, Brock killing Funaki and Taker. But I still think Billy and Chuck look more gay then ever before.

Not nearly as gay as the matching ring attire made them look. Let's remember, they just turned face. Let's give them another week or two to tweak the face versions of their characters.

BTW, I think they might be the most underrated tag team in awhile. I think they are quite fun to watch in the ring.

Like mentioned above, the point is that Steph is in control of Smackdown and eager to show her Smackdown show being better than Raw, be it with be tter wrestling or by embarrassing Eric and Raw.

With this in mind, it does make sense to open the show with Eric obviously being very embarassed by receiving the stinkface at Unforgiven.

With matches like the main and Eddie/Edge, who needs pay-per-views? Wow. I found it interesting they actually kept footage of Eddie getting the standing ovation after the match as well. I'd like to think they just occasionally put stuff on TV because it's just nice, but I'm not THAT optimistic. I wonder if they're going somewhere with that.

Comment from women in the room: "Chavo's got a nice little tushie."

Did Nidia make the three-point-shot with the gum spit into Torrie's cleavage? (It LOOKED like she made it from our TV...)

Kane may not be on Smackdown, but it doesn't matter because Kane and Pete Rose are GOLD.

I LOVE THIS SHOW.

Tonight's Smackdown was just awesome. I can't remember one boring segment at all, and there was tons of great stuff. Heck, even Rikishi and Billy/Chuck were in top form tonight.

Anyone else notice how strongly Lesner got booed after he beat up Funaki? (I heard an asshole chant) Or how over Billy/Chuck are already as faces? Wow . . . Smackdown is absolutely smoking RAW.

Do you think this match turned Eddie face? Or will everybody forget and go back to "Mullet Heat mows my lawn ese" next week?

First off, this is the first Smackdown I've seen in a while and I can't believe the same people that produce RAW produce this show (actually, when I see the Undertaker on Smackdown, I can believe it, but that's not the point). RAW might have been the most boring show this week, period. Smackdown was probably the best wrestling show I've seen since Summerslam. Look, I know Heyman books Smackdown and some Comic Book Guy books RAW, but seriously, how can there be THAT big a gulf between the shows? How can we see a ***** main event on Smackdown, while some 'roided-up bodybuilder teams with Moses to face Cheech and Dusty Rhodes (Version 2) on RAW. Gerwitz and Vince should really be ashamed of themselves.

With all that said, I liked the main better than Eddy/Edge. I mean their match was great, but the last move looked botched and contrived, they shouldn't have broken for commercial (we can have HHH and Stephanie talk for 20 minutes, but these guys can't wrestle for 15 minutes without a break?) and the noise machine was annoying. You could tell there were times when the crowd was CLEARLY cheering for Eddy and they dampen the noise until the end. But that's really nitpicking.

(edited by DirtyMikeSeaver on 26.9.02 2104)

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

I can't tell you how much I HATE canned heat.

That and biased cameramen who ignore the "Benoit Rules" signs and focus on the "HEY, BENOIT! I FOUND YOUR TOOTH! WHAT'S THAT ABOOT?" signs (creative as they may be).

This show was so good it made me feel bad for not ordering the last ppv. WWE is still doing an amazing job with Brock. Not once has he fought anyone but a jobber on Smackdown. Brock is so good, though, that beating on Randy Orton, or Funaki, or whoever works very well. No random tag matches either. Just Brock beating on someone, waiting for the next ppv.

There is no way RAW can compete with this. The gap grows every week.

Nidia phuckin rules ! That Elaine Bennes dance and her huffing for wind was hilarious ! I think Tough Enough is utter crap , but at least something good has come from it .
Of course , her character wouldn't be nearly as potent without Jamie F'N Noble !
