Nah. I'd be very surprised if Vince announced Hogan as his #1 contender and then didn't give him the shot.

My question, though, is this: Why would The Rock endorse Hogan as the #1 contender? Yeah, I know Rocky's a Hulkamaniac, but are we to believe that The Rock doesn't care about the title at all? I mean, hell-- the last time Rock was the WWF Champion was over a year ago, when he lost the belt at WrestleMania XVII. I know Rocky and the Hulkster are buddies, but it's strange that Rock seemingly wouldn't even want a shot at the WWF Title.

From reading about the interview, I got the vibe that Triple H would actually be defending the WWF Title in two separate matches at Backlash. That would be interesting, and would make it conceivable that the title could change hands twice in the same night. I just pray that we don't get a rehash of WrestleMania IX, in which Yokozuna defeated Bret Hart for the belt, only to lose the belt in an impromptu match to Hogan that lasted only a few seconds.

I could see Triple H having two matches at Backlash. Of course, he'd be guaranteed of winning the first one. They'd probably make that the match against Undertaker. But with the push Triple H is getting he'd probably win both matches, to get him some face heat, ala Kurt Angle's three matches at King of the Ring last year, or Benoit & Jericho having three tag team matches in one Raw, with the Title shot being the last one.

Wasn't this guy involved in a RAW ("A" show) angle that lasted several weeks/months as recently as about 3 weeks ago? Then they went to the effort to actually draft him, then they fire him.
