Never before have I been so conflicted. I love this game dearly, and think it is easily the best WWE game yet (including the WWF era).

With that said, I have been playing a season as good ol' Hurricane Helms, and fun though it is, beating down Steve Austin, taking out Shawn Michaels and owning the Dudley Boyz only to be defeated by Chris Jericho after exactly five attacks (that also, of course, gave him a full Smackdown meter) gets incredibly frustrating.

I dearly love the stat system for how much more akin to the real WWE the game is...but I utterly loathe it, for how cheap it can make the gameplay.

Woe.

The weight system is also kinda annoying. It pretty much seems to come down to the fact that if you're a cruiserweight, half of your moveset will not work against your opponent just because they're a heavyweight. Can someone explain to me why Mysterio can powerbomb Matt Hardy, but Benoit is too heavy?

MY UPDATE on the GAME:

I LOVE THIS GAME!! Play it for 5 hours almost every day. Very addictive.

I finished a season with my CAW on RAW. I won no titles the whole year, then won the Rumble. Went to WrestleMania XIX became the World Heavyweight Champion, upsetting the Rock in brutal and bloody Hell In A Cell Match.

I started a second season as Old School Taker. And already beat Kurt Angle for the Us Championship on SmackDown!. I lost it(on purpose) to keep the title changes going after about 3 defenses to Rhyno.(Rhyno has since lost it to Cena)

I since then saved JR's butt from a Vince beating, beat Vince and Eddie Guerrero in a tag match with Lawler as my partner, beaten and bloodied Vince's ass in a cage match at Vengeance.(My CAW lost the World Heavyweight title at the same PPV to HHH in a three way match by pinning GB. DAMN YOU, HHH, DAMN YOU!!)

I have just won the WWE Tag titles with Brock Lesnar from Beniot and Angle.(Yes between Angle and Beniot, they at the beginning of the 2nd season, held four belts. Beniot still has the WWE title, Angle did have the US title, until I beat him for it. NEVER WILL HAPPEN IRL though.) We're called the UnTouchables too.

Well there's the update, and that's what I like about the game, the actual good wrestlers can be pushed to there fullest potential like Beniot and Angle are.
I also like the fact that the game calls sucessful defenses of a belt "V's" like they do in Japan.

(OH and you don't need Honky Tonk Man in this game to have an unbeatable IC champion either. As far as I'm concerned now, Chris Jericho is the new HTK of the SD! series. He's held the belt for over a year now and is up to V30[ sucessful title defenses] now. Nobody can beat him for it.)

I love this game been playing about 4 hours a day. My caw has the IC belt, Hardcore, and World tag on the Raw side, I am trying to get the World Champ belt now.

I see what alot of you saying I mean going agaisnt some of the guys is hard because there stats are high. You can sit there and beat on there and not really do any damage, but they hit you like 3 times and you are yellow. Also when you go agsint a champion they have smackdowns already power up and you start of with nothing. NOw this won't be a problem if you got to start with power ups when you are champ but you don't.

At first I was getting mad at loseing, because no one want to lose belts, but though to myself it makes for a great story. This is a great game and I will be playing it for awhile.

I also like the fact that my caw was the chairman for awhileit was cool.

Loving the game so far, but a silly question....I made a CAW, my friend made one too. He's playing through season mode with his. Any chance I can get MINE to be better without his losing its stats?

Well you can start a new season and his stats can be saved but then he will lose his season, but the stats carry over. I guess if you didn't want to wait for each other to play a whole season you could just keep on restarting seasons but you wouldn't ever get very far.

Thanks for the info. It sucks because his CAW is more powerful than mine because he gets the EXP and I don't. This way, after a season or two, we'll both be able to take on Lesnar and company on equal footing. Another reason to like this game (because in Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth, starting a new season with another CAW erased the old one).

You can put yours in there and when your match comes up take over. Because he is the main and gets the point so will you, you just don't get any of the story stuff.

If you see your guys has a match don't skip it play it and pick your guys and there you go. You won't move up the rants as fast as him , but you get something.

I was finally able to put some real time in over the weekend. I was able to build my CAW up to some respectable stats. My only problem is I want kick everybody's ass and remain undefeated. However, I have 2 belts and that hell-hound Stephanie won't let me leave Smackdown w/o giving up the belts.

I would at least like to break Goldberg's old record, but I could risk going through a very boring season. Too bad that you can't just forfeit the titles and move on. I do see myself getting back to regular HHH-haterstyle form. But I haven't been able to interfere in a match yet. I love the fact that you can counter a special move w/o having a special loaded up yourself.

And the blood just adds a whole new dimension to the game. One of my specials is Tajiri's Buzzsaw Kick. I LOVE that move, it almost always busts them open. I would suggest it to anyone that hasn't seen it yet. Another cool thing is it shows you that icon to see how much damage you're doing.

One thing that does suck is, after the match where you can Taunt, Attack, or Respect. Every single time I choose 'Attack', the loser ends up kicking my ass. Whatupwidat?

I think the Attack, Respect, Taunt thing might have something to do with Superstar Points? Not positive though. What is your Superstar Points? If it's low it might be because of that. I'm not positive but someone told me if you're pretty low, especially if you're a CAW you should always choose respect and often the next week you can talk to that person backstage and get some exp points when you talk to them. But I haven't tried it enough to know for sure. Right now I'm Edge with a 90 rating and when i've done attack i've only had them get the best of me once. So it could be possible it has something to do with Superstar points.

Sounds likely to me. I tried to Attack the Rock (still as RVD) but got clobbered. Week after that was a tag match, with me and Lesnar vs. Nash and Triple H, and we won. This time I picked Attack and got to watch RVD and Lesnar beat down Trips. The only diff I can see is that Lesnar and I combined for more SP than Triple H and Nash.

(Yes, Lesnar came over from Smackdown just to join my faction. No, I have no idea why. Not that I MIND having him on my side ... )

I haven't paid attention to it. 1st time I tried was against Steve Richards and my guy was fairly new. I don't remember the rest in between, but the last time was against Albert and my guy is at 93 I believe. I'll check it again though just to be sure.

Thanx for the reply. It's really embarassing to dominate and then get left lying on the mat. And to add insult to injury, he told Trish about it backstage. Something like: "he won the match but I still kicked his butt in the end..." or something like that.

I love this game. I played it for far too many hours, and am now burnt out.

The game has fun bugs. When I was playing as Benoit and had the WWE championship, Kurt Angle beat me in a 6-man royal rumble to earn a title shot.
Kurt Angle was also the U.S. champion at the time.
So it was interesting, to say the least, when backstage Angle shares his sympathy with me, saying that he has to defend his title at the PPV too.
So later on that show, Angle and HHH have a match (HHH jumped to Smackdown). After the match, Triple H beats down Kurt Angle with the help of KURT ANGLE! Benoit and Angle later on challenge Triple H and Kurt Angle's clone to a tag match with both singles titles on the line. At the PPV, the evil Kurt Angle had transformed into the Rock.

On an unrelated topic, some of the matches are brutally harder. The Last Man Standing matches, specifically, take a lot more violence to win. Comparitively speaking, the Three Stages of Hell match (in season mode, at least) is ridiculously easy in the second stage (cage match) if you beat your opponent halfway to death with various international objects in the hardcore match.

Yes. If you do enough damage to someone's head, the screen flashes red and they sport a crimson mask for the rest of the match. It doesn't really have much effect beyond the cosmetic, but it sure is cool.

Mack is right on about LMS matches being tougher, by the way. In SYM, last man standing was usually decided by the first guy to hit a finisher. Last night I had a LMS match with Triple H, and it was still going after three Pedigrees and four Five-Stars. It finally ended after he decided to bring Mjolnir into the ring, and I took it away from him and basically beat him into a thin red paste on the mat. As it should be.

Excellent, I'll have to pick it up.

One more question - is it still impossible to break up a submission hold, like in SYM?

Here's a tip I figured out for upping the possible CAW attributes. After playing about a half a season with my CAW and giving 6's across the board for attributes, I copied the CAW to another slot and defaulted all the attire and everything. Then I entered the Default CAW into season. Now he will play and win or lose matches in season, but either way his possible attributes will increase. When I make a new CAW, I will copy the Default CAW to another slot and go from there with 6's across the board and extra attributes to add as I see fit from there.

Nope, submissions now work on a tug of war system.....when a hold gets put on, a meter pops up. Far left is Submit, far right is Break, you mash the buttons to get it to whatever your side is

More damage that's been done before the move's put on, the farther it begins toward the Submit end
