I saw mention on last night's Confidential (wwe.com) that Smackdown! will celebrate its 200th episode this Thursday night on UPN. Certainly reaching the 200 milestone in most anything is a pretty special achievement, but IMHO especially so when you consider how many decades pro wrestling was not a part of any national broadcast network's prime-time schedule. Hats off to Vince & Company for getting Smackdown! to the double century mark.
Playing the part of the cynic, I don't see this as hardly the milestone you make it out to be. Look at the ratings and quality of shows UPN puts out...okay quality of network TV blows so ummm well just look at the ratings. Last I heard UPN is 5th overall only ahead of the WB. Smackdown is their highest rated show, but never breaks the four hole in shows on it's timeslot. If they were originally picked up by CBS, NBC, ABC, or maybe FOX they would not have survived the first year. Then again, NBC was crazy enough to pick up the XFL.

Well, in addition, SmackDown! has been going practically week in and week out every week out of the year. Still, that makes about 4 years on the air, which is more than most other series do on any network. Plus, this is UPN, home of Abby, the lowest rated network TV show in the country (160 out of 160).

ACTUALLY, this week's episode was the 200th episode of SmackDown!, though next week will be the 200th episode in the SmackDown! series. The initial SmackDown special that aired in 4/99 may or may not count/exist depending on who's counting.

It was 3rd this week. It'll probably be around there all summer, because ABC, FOX, and WB don't have anything there (either.)
I'm impressed that on your 200th post was on Smackdown's 200th episode! Wow what a coincidence
Cubs is correct they beat out Fox more times then not (As a Family Guy & Tick fan who followed their ratings on Thursday, believe me I know) and when they were going really good they at times snip at the heels of one of the big 3 networks (Usually ABC) even without ABC Hockey ratings disaster.
cause there's limits to our liberties. 'Least I hope and pray that there are, cause those liberal freaks go too far.
I'll crush all opposition to me And I'll make Ted Kennedy pay If he fights back, I'll say that he's gay
