Velocity: Paul London beat Akio in a match that went over 13 minutes. Hardcore Holly beat Rene Dupree Charlie Haas beat Spike Dudley
Smackdown: Eddie Guerrero beat Kenzo Suzuki Bashams vs Reigns & Jindrak was a DDQ or NC when UT interfered Funaki beat Chavo Guerrero John Cena beat Orlando Jordan in a QF Match of the no. 1 contender's match Kurt Angle beat Rey Mysterio in a 17 minute match. Meltzer's comment was, "said to be a great match." These two guys seem to always have great chemistry with each other.
Dark Match was Taker beating Heidenreich in over 17 minutes. Yikes.
Looks like a pretty good show, with Velocity and Smackdown each having one potentially really good match. Aside from the matches themselves, they did a bikini contest of some kind with Hiroko and Torrie. They also had a JBL-Big Show confrontation and an angle with Akebono.| Promote this thread! | | Matt Tracker

As I see the extended Angle match, I would like to ask those who watch SD more frequently than I if he looks OK. Specifically this, do you get a creepy vibe that he's more susceptible to a bad bump and subsequent injury than anyone else? Remember whan we would watch Nathan Jones and fear for the life of his opponent? When we would wait for Austin's neck to fall off during a match? When we would make bets as to how many people Ric Steiner would put on the DL each month? When we all KNEW Brock couldn't splash Angle from that far away, and like a panicked mother watching her young athlete son, said aloud "you're gonna break your neck?" (Was that just me? I was on my feet, yelling at the screen when he climbed that WM turnbuckle.) Anyway, does a current Angle match give you the same icky dread?
London/Akio might be worth paying for, if necessary.

It's hard to tell if he's trying to work around the injury simply because he's barely been working at all. This'll be his first match of any length/significance since...well, I wanna say the Big Show match at No Mercy, but don't quote me on it.
One thing I did notice...after taking his bump over the top rope for the Rumble, Angle laid face-down for a good twenty seconds, his fingers flexing next to his head. I'm no expert or anything, but the immediate impression I got was that he was checking to make sure all of his extremities still had their range of movement and feeling. Kinda worrying, if that's what he was doing.

Angle/JBL had that "last man standing" match on SD a few weeks ago. He gave out quite a few German Suplexes to JBL.

He won't, but I hope he will. WrestleMania XXII anyone?

Kurt has conributed an awful lot to the business. I would never begrudge his retirement, but it would be sad to see him go. I know his body is feeling the affects, so I hope he doesn't let it get to the point where he's a broken old man before his time. He's still one of my favorites working today. It's true. It's damn true. But I agree, he should probably start looking forward to enjoying the fruits of his labor.
