Holy shit! Did Tazz and Triple H actually call The Great Khali a "sub-human"?! And they put that on the air! Wow. That'll play well when Smackdown airs in India.

The WWE Championship Scramble is way more interesting to me than the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble. Smackdown sure outdid RAW in their Scramble particpants: Jeff Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and The Brian Kendrick! All four are getting a WWE Championship shot at Unforgiven. First time ever the latter three get a shot at the WWE Title, and on a pay per view, no less. Consider the glass ceiling officially shattered. We might even get to see someone highly unlikely pin Triple H during the Scramble, if only to become "interim champion". But if Kendrick does the impossible, I'll plotz.

Add Undertaker's "LOOK AT ME, WOMAN!" to Vickie Guerrero to the running for Quote of the Year.

Shelton's never had a WWE title shot before?

Great episode I thought. It's good to see new people getting pushed, and I love how the storyline for the SD scramble match (4 underdogs vs favored champion) is EXACTLY the opposite of the RAW scramble match (4 established challengers vs underdog champion). It makes for an interesting match, and everyone in the match can go. I expect 4 snowflakes at least at Unforgiven on the SD side.

I really expect Kendrick to show out during that match, he'll need to cause the fans seem to be going to sleep on him for now.

Picking these guys over Undertaker, Big Show, Khali, and even a usual standby like Finlay is really fun. It's kind of odd that not a single one of the four really won their way into the match. Although if I don't like it, I can take it up with his man Zeke. Pretty sure we're getting a Punk/Kendrick unification match at Wrestlemania.

I don't know how successful the match itself will be since the nature of the match means the crowd doesn't necessarily have to get into it until the last five minutes if that. But the interval entrance thing should keep it interesting, everyone will work really hard, and people will probably be into it when Hunter is trying to get the title back from a heel and during the time Jeff is holding it. Jeff coming thisclose to hanging on before relinquishing back to HHH in the last minute is probably what I would do.

So they've got two matches with ten guys in it that are only going 20 minutes each. What else is going to fill out that card? Michaels/Jericho as the real main event, natch (although I would do another in-ring angle where Jericho punches Shawn's baby in the face). Cryme Tyme vs. Symply Prycelyss. Big Show turns to protect Vickie's soul from Undertaker? D'Lo vs. Beth Phoenix?

They really should try to hold off the Michaels/Jericho match as long as possible. Hold Michaels out at least another month, and then make him have to prove himself worthy of facing Jericho. Either that or have Michaels make his return by HELPING Jericho win the championship, which causes Jericho to get no satisfaction from his victory, causing him to go further off the edge, while also allowing Michaels to have a championship as well as revenge facing him. By pushing it now they are having 2 weeks left of set up, 1 on Sci-Fi the other on Labor Day, before a throw-away PPV. Just slow burning it correctly could get the blow-off at Mania, which would demonstrate that done properly with the correct performers, you could still get a feud to last a year in this day and age.

I'm inclined to agree with you, although that show is really hurting for depth if that's the case. That's never really stopped them before, I guess.

I think they'll be hard-pressed to take it past Survivor Series, since there's three PPVs and all that TV to get through before then. I'd be in favor of it, though.

Taker/Edge was a pretty long-term deal in that they shot the first angle in May '07 and then feuded from November '07 to August '08. Granted, Taker was off TV all summer. And they didn't really have a storyline so much as they just kept wrestling each other.

I wouldn't consider the glass ceiling shattered unless one of those guys actually WINS. That being said, it is nice they went with these 4 guys.

Mania was probably pushing it, but, if they went this route they could go close to Mania: Michaels stays off TV until Survivor Series. They really should have done that with the eye injury/blinding portion, but accumulated injuries plus distress over his wife keeps him from performing could be a good enough reason. Jericho goes over Punk at Survivor with the returning Michaels interfering to cause Jericho to win. Michaels can they say Jericho can't win without him being his savior, and Jericho can go nutty. Go to a Michaels win over Cade in December (while Jericho retains against Punk), Jericho DQ at the PPV before the Rumble, a Michaels title win at Rumble, and Michaels finally ending the feud in a rematch, HITC or 3 Stages of Hell. That then would allow them to have Michaels vs. Taker for the title to headline Mania XXV.
Now, after going through that, watch them blow it off at a throwaway PPV.

Jericho should totally show up at HBK's house during the PPV and put on the kids in a Liontamer after shattering a lamp over HBK's head. That will get me to order the replay. That and the epic encounter of D Lo vs. Beth Phoenix.

Cena can't be beat because he's some unholy genetic recombinate of superstars past. I mean, you might as well call him John "Realest of the Real, Sargent Rock - Cold - A - Mania" Cena.

It's amazing how all of the challengers for HHH didn't get a strong decisive win. Amazing. They seem to be perhaps setting up a heel turn for HHH with his "Jeff Hardy is no HHH" talk. I wouldn't be suprised to see Jeff either walk out with the title by the skin of his teeth, or to have Jeff get the pin on HHH only to lose it at the last second to HHH on a roll-up or some other flukey way.

As for the Jericho/Michaels feud, I'd have liked to see Michaels stay out for a while, perhaps coming back to win the Rumble and title shot with then champ Jericho (although having Michaels help Jericho get the title is a GREAT idea, whoever said that should be booking).

BTW, isn't it funny that Adamle gets all up in Kane's ass for carrying a burlap sack because it might influence kids to do the same, but he doesn't say anything about Jericho hitting a woman in the middle of the ring at a WWE PPV?

Well, that punch was an accident. Also, it was Shawn Michaels' fault.

I think Jericho/Michaels could put on a decent Iron Man match; a feud minus match gimmicks is what these two need. By the end of the 60 minute rollercoaster ride of high drama, the two men could walk away having settled their score... Bah, I think redsoxnation's booking ideas are still better.

Nice to see Benjamin in the title mix, God bless that man and his gold hair.
