Just got back from BCA, here are the results:

Dark Matches
(1) Ultimo Dragon beat Chaz Wicks- couple of mis-timed moves in this match. Dragon won with his kick-ass move (name?)

(2) Ben Dunn & Mike Lehan beat Joe E. Legend and Sean Lamowski- I just tried to sound out the 3 jobbers names, as I didn't really hear them. I thought Legend signed with TNA? The winners were billed as being from Rochester, which gave them an instant cheap pop. Loud "boring" chants.

Josh & The Cat came out.

Velocity Tapings
(1) Jamie Noble w/Nidia beat Spanky with the guillotine choke. Lots of "Let's go Spanky" chants.

(2) Sean O'Haire beat Funaki with the "Prophecy" I believe it's called. "Where is Piper" chant was pretty funny.

(3) Kanyon beat Mike Bell with the flatliner. Kanyon wins finally!

(4) Matt Hardy beat Shannon Moore with a small package. Matt deemed this Shannon's last chance to prove his mattitude. Shannon put up a good fight and Hardy shook his hand after the match. Looks like all is well.

Smackdown! Taping
-The Zach/Vince angle was replayed.

-Vince came on the titantron and said he'd seal Mr. America's fate tonight.

(1) Rey Mysterio, Jr. beat Nunzio to retain the Cruiserweight Title. Kidman came out and sat in the crowd for this one, receiving a "Kidman's got a bald spot" chant from those above him. The ref made Chuck and Stamboli go to the back before the match. When they tried to interfere, the APA came down and took them out. Kidman was excited for Rey, joining him in the ring for a celebration.

-Brock and Kurt Angle were backstage. They did some hijinks involving Kurt accidentally spitting milk on a stagehand.

(2) Chris Benoit and Rhyno beat The Bashams w/Shaniqua with the Crossface.

-Vince and Steph were backstage. Steph tried unsuccessfully get out of her handicap match with Big Show.

-Steph and Sable backstage segment.

-Noble and Nidia got out of a limo earlier in the day- Nidia showed off her (fake) fur coat and Noble showed off his new sunglasses.

-Orlando Jordan talks to 'Taker backstage. Cena interrupts.

(3) Billy Gunn w/Torrie beat John Cena in the U.S. Title Tourney. Cena's pre-match rap was hilarious, prompting the crowd's "Let's go Cena" chants during the match. Cena tried to use his chains, but 'Taker came out distracting Cena and allowing Gunn to get a small package for the win.

-Angle challenged Brock to a pushup competition to see if he could do 300.

-The t-shirt guy came out. He gave away shirts. Moving on...

-Brock finished his pushups at 301. Angle then declined to do them, leaving a tired Brock a bit perturbed.

(4) Benjamin and Haas "The Best Damn Tag Team Period" beat Eddy and Tajiri for the Tag Titles. They came out in the lowrider. The crowd was chanting for Eddie to cheat, so he did. Also, the ref kept admonishing him to use the tag rope, so he detached it from the ring post so it would slide around the rope so he could walk on the apron and still be attached to it.

-Mr. America highlights.

-Tajiri was still lying on the lowrider hood from the match. Eddie walked around the ring distraught. He then pushed Tajiri out of the way, showing his concern was for the car. He then beat up Tajiri and put him thru the windshield. Tajiri did a stretcher job.

-Zach was backstage stretching while Big Show taunted him.

(5) A-Train beat Orlando Jordan with the Derailer.

-Big Show talked to Steph backstage.

-WM Recall- Jake Roberts and Alice Cooper

-Vince and Sable came down to announce that Vince had footage from after Smackdown! last week where America took his mask off and it was Hogan. They showed the highlights, after which Vince did the "You're Fired!" bit. They took seats ringside for the handicap match

(6) Zach and Steph beat Big Show in a No-DQ handicap match. Angle and Lesnar both interfered to help Zach and Steph. Vince hit Angle with a chair to no avail. Zach moonsaulted onto Big Show for the pin.

So it looks like Hogan really is gone. And three months of Smackdown is wasted.

And John Cena jobbed to Billy Freaking Gunn....but wait, Cena is being "elevated" by getting to job to Undertaker now. Joy.

Over 1550 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!

Oliva: You are the weakest link! Goodbye!

Stewie: Ahahaha. Oh God, that's funny. That's really funny. You write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh. 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' You know I've never heard anyone make that joke before. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that outside program before. Because that's what she says on the show, right? Hmmm? 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' And ye...ye..yet you've taken it and....and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. What a clever, smart girl you must be. To come up with a joke like that all by yourself. Mmmmm...that's so fresh too. Any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. Mmmm? Cuz i'm here God you're so funny!

As if the Cena thing wasn't enough of a head-scratcher...

Ultimo Dragon has a big debut last week, and this week he's back in a dark match?
And the big Matt/Shannon blowoff is on Velocity?

OK, bitch mode off...it does seem like a good show and they handled the Hogan thing as best they could. I'll be watching. The Eddy beatdown on Tajiri sounds sweet. Hail the return of heel Eddy!!!

damn it, John Cena is the one I was hoping would win the U.S. Title. Has WWE put up any brackets or anything for this U.S. Title tournment? Or do they just go week by week? Seems that they have taken Cena's push and gave it to Billy Gunn. He has a girl, Torrie, now and might hold the U.S. Title soon, eh.

Shopkeeper: The toppings contain potassium benzoate.

Why is WWE breaking up their tag teams? They have so few as is. They keep teasing the Benoit/Rhyno brake up and now this.

The Smackdown under/midcard is swiss cheese. So many holes you'd swear Russo was writing this thing.

Three good matches is a positive.

One final negative note. When I think of Kurt Angle returning from a broken neck to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title in a rematch from WrestleMania, I don't think wacky hijinks.

I guess it looks like Hogan is gone (for now) based on the spoilers. But no one really thinks he'll miss the oppurtunity to steal the spotlight at WrestleMania XX now do they? What is everyones predictions on when he'll be back to WWE?

I'd put 20 bucks on him being back in November in time for Survivor Series.

This Angle/Lesnar thing for some reason just reeks of the first few weeks of the HHH/Steiner buildup.

I hope Hogan will be back next week because I think he's *still* the most entertaining guy they've got! I also can't wait to see 1500 Wiener's heads explode here when it happens either.

Screw you all, I'm standing up to all the "Hogan will be back to steal the spotlight" stuff. As far as I'm concerned, he is the spotlight (espcially on a show that pushes Billy Gunn for the secondary singles title).

wait, the Shiranui? Is that the Sliced Bread #2, or am I mistaken?
If so, wouldn't that mean Dragon has the same finisher as Spanky?
That'd be a heck of a coincidence.

They're not quite the same move.

Spanky grabs the opponent, then springs up and off the turnbuckle in his backflip, generally more shoving the opponent into the mat in something resembling a reverse DDT.

Ultimo, on the other hand, simply grabs him in the same position, does a standing backflip over his head, and lands in a traditional, headlocked reverse DDT.

...back to lurking.

Yep, that's the same Mike Bell who got roughed up by Perry Saturn. He wrestled a RAW dark match a month or two ago.

The Angle-Lesnar comedy bits should be fun.

Heel Eddie is good, but I would've enjoyed it if it was either Benoit or Rhyno.

I'm puzzled as to why Ultimo wrestled a dark match after last week.

And don't get me started on Cena losing to Gunn, and the possibility of Cena jobbing to Taker.

A few thoughts. Number one, for the guy who wondered about them breaking up tag teams, I'm pretty sure Chavo is just about ready to come back, so it would make sense for Eddy to put Tajiri out of the picture. If Tajiri gets a partner to even the score, then hell, we've even got another tag team. I'm just as let down as everyone else that Hogan's gone. That angle had some terrible stuff we had to sit through, and now there's no payoff. And while I do think it's garbage that Cena's out of the tourny, I understand that a lot of the guys in the back are pretty big on him, and he's one of the few guys Undertaker might actually be willing to do the job for. I know what you're thinking, but while it's quite rare for the Undertaker to job, it is not wholey unprecidented.

Kanyon wins! Knoble wins!

However...
--Gunn over Cena? What a waste. I guess the "Gunn winning the US Title" possibility becomes a lot more plausible. And Cena going on to feud w/ Taker? Let's hope Taker does a better job putting over Cena than last time.

--setting up an APA/FBI feud? Great, FBI gets to keep jobbing ::rolls eyes:: They spent time to build up the FBI as a credible heel stable, mixing them up w/ Benoit, Brock, Show, only to job them out to Taker, and now the APA. The cynic in me thinks they only built up the FBI so Taker would look good when they job to him, but that wouldn't be the case...would it?

....?

Uh, sounds like an okay show to me, but I'll definitely watch Velocity to see the New Jamie Noble and Nidia (lol).

Yeah, what a waste of 3 months. You'd think with all the hell that Mr. America went through, he'd (and us) get a happy ending. Well, at least Zach's employed. That means when America returns (if), Zach will turn on him because Hogan did nothing for him. I can't wait to see that, to be honest.

Lesnar and Angle should be funny though, so I'll leave it at that. Eddie turns on Tajiri already?! I was really getting used to them too.

So Steph didn't wrestle at all last night, huh? Zach did all the work? I'll see if that's true. However to be honest, I'm looking forward more to TNA tonight than Smackdown tomorrow. We'll see what happens.
