Originally posted by 2P4EI'm usually fairly optimistic that when terrible things happen in WWE there's gonna be at least some kind of silver lining somewhere, but even if I shared your rosy outlook here, and even though I love Christian as a heel slightly more than as a face, both shows are already heel-heavy.
All the upper card heels are on RAW. Who's the number one heel on Smackdown? Sheamus? Cody Rhodes? No one seems a legitimate world title threat right now. They need Christian as the top heel.
Sheamus and Barrett are both fine as top heels, but now the problem is that Orton/Sheamus and Orton/Barrett have already been done to death in 2010. No one's going to want to take that ride again, so even if it is a terrible idea to turn Christian (and it is!), they've essentially booked themselves into a corner.
Unless they go the face vs. face route with Orton and Christian, which would actually make the feud compelling and interesting. So much so that this most definitely will NOT be the way it happens.

I can't seem to find a link at the moment but Lance Storm has talked about it a couple of times on his site. He was ripping on Christian and someone asked him about it and he went into an explanation of how Christian drives even his best friends crazy. I've seen Jericho make reference to it as well.
A different combination of keywords came to mind and I managed to find a relevant quote:

That's it? That's not much proof that people dislike Christian. Lance has never really been the type of guy to openly call someone names. The "bastard" comment sounds to me like one friend ribbing another, especially since everyone was calling Christian a creepy little bastard for a while. It's like how Foley always makes fun of Al Snow because they are friends.

It could be a main event in any arena in the world, and to prove it, it's the main event of tonight's show - it's the enthralling matchup of JUSTIN GABRIEL vs. JINDER MAHAL! ALSO: When seasons of NXT collide: ALEX RILEY vs. MICHAEL McGILLICUTTY!
