It's my life, my time, my rights, my rhyme. It's Sssssmackdown!, in San Antonio.
Undertaker, in black singlet and leather pants, riding his bike, vs. Nunzio, in red "FBI" undies, with Chuck and Johnny. Yknow, there's only so long the WWE can milk this thing. Nunzio is a good cowardly heel. Squishy-squash, but good for some laughs. Again with the beatdown (you'd think Taker would know it's coming). Then the APA makes the save. A BLONDE? Bradshaw, in black sleeveless "Drink or Fight" tshirt, and Farooq, in black sleeveless, too.
Hugh and Kendrick, in the hallway, chat with Zack. Mature Lady scares him, in her deep V-neck black outfit, and invites him into her room. (The REAL Room o' Fun now, if you know. Ha ha.)
A video timeline of the Lesnar/Show sage (throughout the show, really).
Benoit, in black sleeveless "Toothless Aggression" tshirt and blue "Toothless Aggression" tights, and Rhyno, in black "Rhyno" singlet, in the ring. Steph, in black tanktop (nice boobs) and grey skirt, with the US Title over her shouler. Book a match between 'em, NOW. Who will turn? Cole talks-up the US Title - apparently they're using its history all the way back to Harley Race in the NWA (can they use NWA history?). Adbreak interferes just when it's heating up. Well, Rhyno's the heel (for this match at least), due at least in half to his talking during the match. A good match.
In the Room o' Fun, still both clothed. Man, that look on Zack's face is priceless!
Unlimo Dragon, next week.
Rey, in white "Rey 619" wifebeater, red "619" trunks with web, and mask, wearing the belt, vs. Kanyon, already in the ring, in black/neon green "Who Betta?" tights. Kanyon gets his butt kicked like a MAN. Nice match.
Team Angle (with new music and video), in maroon/silver singlets (eh, they look too collegiate), talk. Kurt, in blue "Team Angle" singlet, with gold medals (and "You Suck"s), is out to talk 'em down. Make it Angle vs. Haas. What - Hebner uses his EARS? Another adbreak. A good match. Honestly, I was scared everytime Kurt landed on his back. Beatdown ensues, but Brocky makes the save.
In the Room o' Fun Sable toys with Zack (that dialogue wouldn't even cut it in a porn). Fortunately, Vince, in brown sportscoat and blue shirt, shows up to end it.
Billy Gunn, in pink lips'n "Mr Ass" undies, with Torrie, in pink top, skimpy undies, and legwraps, vs. Noble, in cutoff jeans, with Nidia, in gold top and Daisy Dukes. (Tazz gets all Fashion-Reporty on me tonight. Love you too.) Chants for: Torrie and Puppies (not Trish). Noble's flop onto the floor was icky! A nice match. Torrie sucks (so the guys in the back boast).
Eddie, in silver "Latino" tights, wearing the Tag Title, with Tajiri, in a tricked-out SUV, vs. Sean, in long black trenchcoat with silver flamin' cuffs, blue black-flamed crotch and web butt undies, with Piper, and FOOTAGE! Is Piper drinking that straight? An okay match. In the Room o' Fun, Vince recaps his evil plot (and macks on Sable). Eww - gouge out my eyes! And hack off my ears! Now Steph (thank God) interrupts. Totally straight hair this week. What - Vince whored-out his daughter!?! A very disturbing segment.
BigShow, in one-strap black singlet, vs. Adbreak, vs. Brocky, in black undies with butt-skull, wearing the WWE Title belt. They claim the ring's bee reinforced tonight. THIS is intense, power-wrestling. Aw crap - Haas/Benjamin interfere. But Angle is out to save. Then, Mr. America, in a new mask (right half blue with stars, left half red/white stripes) is out. After it all, the heels are left standing. A nice match, while it lasted.
Overall: This was a good, entertaining show. I laughed, I cheered, I was shocked. The only down spot was the Zack/Sable spot #3.
Edit: minor typos. Oh, and the crowd was really into it, too.

Wisdom is learning from one's mistakes. Greater wisdom is learning from the mistakes of others.
Only negative at all I could see was too much Sable speaking. But hell, everything else pretty much clicked....I was cheering for Kanyon to pull it off
Steph actually does the best acting job I've EVER seen her do (even though I know that's not saying much, but still), Billy freaking Gunn has an okay match, and of course they still manage to find ways to make me mark like a bitch for Mr. America nearly each and every time he's out there. Good stuff

I have nothing to complain about in this show. But ummm....someone forgot to tell Billy that he isn't supposed to be gay anymore.
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
Belt looks way overdone. Harley Race was with the WWF/E territory as King Harley getting carried to the ring. So why can't they use his name if he held a championship that is I guess is WWE property. So far enjoying the show, remember I get the late feed. Abnormal one here.
EDIT 1: Zack looked like he was a kid in a candy store but I have to admit I'd probably have same look if I got to do that. I love how they just barely kept it out of the camera angle.

EDIT 2: Liked the new Mr. America gear even though the gimmick has probably ran a bit to long, Props for Ringmistress for getting me to realize it. Hey it's Team Show! Apparently everbody that has respond still doen't like that title...sort of make sick how bad it looks.

Banned Once! The independant thought alarm went off, knew to much about b*tching.
Pretty good show, overall. The second hour dragged a little, but the first hour more than made up for it.
I HATE the new US Title design. It looks like someone took the Cruiserweight belt and slapped an American Flag over it. They should have just copied the WCW version, and replaced the WCW logos with WWE logos. It would have looked better.
I wish they'd build Kanyon up as meaning something. The guy has SO MUCH talent, but he's not being able to use it.
LOVED the Kurt Angle/Team Angle stuff. Was very entertained with the pre-match interview, and was even more entertained with the match! Good stuff.
Can't wait for Ultimo Dragon's debut next week. Bringing back the hype vignettes was one of the best moves WWE's done in a while.
Too much Sable CAN be a bad thing.
I thought the main-event was pretty good. Not as good as some of their previous matches, but still good. Brock Lesnar and Big Show just have that uniqe chemistry with each other. They click very well. And you can't say that with most Big Show opponents.
That's about it. Good show, overall. Let's hope they keep it up.
It looks like the Rhyno heel turn has begun. Would have been better if they had done the tag team split before the match, thus none of the face vs. face dynamics going into a match that generally kills the crowd (something they have to be careful of if Angle/Lesnar is face vs. face at the ppv). Watching Kanyon in his match against Rey made me wonder yet again why they didn't put him in the Piper's lackey role. He's always been best when he is behind someone, and he's much better in the ring than O'Haire. Tenacious Z would look a little more like someone who deserves a wrestling contract if he wasn't walking around with a cane at all times. And, for the love of God, can someone please put Vince in a nursing home? Can't spell APAthy with APA. Billy Gunn and Torrie Wilson together. I'm surprised the universe didn't collapse when those two black holes of suck joined together. Remember when Jamie Knoble was getting a push? I guess Dr. Nick Riviera did an excellent job putting Kurt Angle's neck back together. After 3 months, nice to see him back in the ring. Now, lets all ponder together: Angle is Flair. Lesnar is Sting. Anyone want to guess how this is going to turn out?

As long as it doesn't end up with Angle in a black mask doing lame magic tricks and coming to the ring in a space-ship, with Ole Anderson doing his interviews, then it's fine by me.

I agree. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I could watch Brock and Show go at it all day long. Granted, it's not Angle-Benoit in terms of workrate, but who cares? It's fun - that's what matters.
Yo, it's me, it's me, it's (points to self) P-A-B!

I was thinking along the same lines last week. It could get interesting.

The replay of the breaking ring before the intro was a little long. Yeah, it was cool, but still...
I hardly recognized Bradshaw when he was running out. How long is it going to be before every WWE wrestler is sporting "the Test"?
Gee! Vince is cheating again. That's original. And Stephanie's little twist? I didn't even think twice about it. I'm not sure if that's because I'm so used to this tone from WWE now, or if Steph's atrocious acting just shut me down...
The immediate reaction I had of the new US Title was that it reminded me of Bradshaw's "Texas" Hardcore Title belt. And that's not a good thing.
I'm kind of enjoying Billy Gunn's return for whatever reason...
So is Eddie's Latino ride being a Mitsubishi supposed to be a subliminal pun in relation to this pairing? (Although that was a SWEET looking rig...)
What Stephanie did was not acting. Here's what stephanie did, she raised her voice to a glass shattering level and screamed and whined like a banshee. While it maybe tough to get your voice that high, its not acting. Stephanie doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as "acting."

My God.........who would of ever thought in a million years that after Sable sued Vince for millions of dollars for sexual harrassment, that she would then come back and do things on camera 100 times worse than she ever did before. Each week they have her do something even more sexual than the week before.
Also, I would have to put Bradshaws haircut in the same category as Eddie's. He just doesn't look right with it. Bradshaw now looks like Charlie Haas older brother.
It might be just me, but it just seemed the Benoit/Rhyno match went a bit to long.
In conclusion, I thought it was a good Smackdown.......not great, but good.

I didn't think it was that bad. Yeah, it got into the "screeching" range, but it definitely wasn't as bad as it's been in the past and besides - if you were going off on a rage, wouldn't your voice sound a little like that?

If you are a fan of wrestling matches over skits, then this was your show. Outside of the Sable/Vince/Zach/Steph segments, everything else was wrestling matches (well, I guess Kurt and the team formerly known as Angle did some mic work, but even that led directly to a lengthy-for-TV match). I wouldn't say that the Sable, etc. stuff was good, or seemed to have much resembling a point, but on the bright side, it only took up roughly 5 minutes of air time all put together. And outside of the Taker/Nunzio squash, I thought the matches were all of good quality (yes, even the Billy Gunn one!) Good stuff in my book.

Not that I disagree with you, but where does that leave Zach Gowen? That guy manages to make Sable look like she deserves an Emmy by comparison.
Everything that is wrong in this world can be blamed on Freddie Prinze Jr.
The Sable-Zach Gowen stuff was disturbing and unnecessary. She looked like a (slutty)high school teacher molesting her student. Also, for once I almost saw reason to feel bad for the boy(or atleast care about him), but how can you after seeing that? Way to introduce yourself to WWE fans, son.
Vince, you sick sad fuck, stop shoving your twisted sexual fantasies down our throats and passing it off as entertainment. Its fucking tired you old hag. Would it hurt to TRY SOMETHING ORIGINAL? Why doesn't Linda step in on this crap? And, although Steph's acting is annoying and I've clearly no love lost, atleast she's sort of speaking out against Vince's crap. Could I trust where this leads to, though?
And did fans seem to respond more to HHH-Nash than they did to the APA?

As soon as I saw that belt I said to myself, "It's the TGI Friday's Title!" What with the red and white stripes and all. Bad looking belt though. It makes the IC title look practically pleasant.
Oh, and why the hell did this "Steph gets whored out" thing make it on the air? Seriously, we all get Vince is a scumbag, but does he really have to be deplorable? It's just a whole other level of twisted that I don't need to see on pro wrestling TV. The acting through that whole series of skits was awful, especially Zach Gowan's throws of passion crap.

With Steph now telling daddy that he can just go ahead and fire her if he doesn't like her hiring Zach, maybe this could be a set up for Smackdown getting a new GM ?
