Kofi Kingston vs. Christian for the vacated IC belt Kofi wins a whopper of a TV match, with both men bouncing and leaping like mad. Christian hits a springboard twisting sunset flip, but Kofi rolls through and pops the Trouble In Paradise for the pin. Kofi is elated. Christian is supportive. GM Teddy Long is satisfied.
But here comes Drew McIntyre (and The Lovely Mrs. Tracker glides into the room as only an 8-month pregnant woman can), and he has a letter. Unlike The Miz's it is not titled on the envelope. Teddy announces the letter is from Vince, and Teddy's actions to strip Drew are reversed. Kofi is sad.
Shad Gaspar beat a jobber with a bald spot. He stole Val Venis's flappy arm gesture. And he stole it from Koko B Ware.
Beth Phoenix's match with Rosa Mendes is given the hook by special consultant Vickie, and a handicap title match against Simply Flawless is made instead. Beth does a stacked samoan drop and complains about knee pain only after everyone hits the mat. Layla capitalizes on a Beth-McCool collision and pins! She's the new champ!
According to the SmackDown page at wwe.com, Beth has a torn ACL and will undergo surgery. She did that move on a torn ACL?
Kane beat Chavo pretty quick.
MVP/JTG beat The Dudebusters. I hope Ziggler and Masters team up to fight somebody.
Rey Mysterio beat CM Punk by DQ when the SES ran in. The hooded stranger dropped Rey with a move I believe Cody Rhodes has been using, and that would be an interesting development if Rhodes goes straight-edge. The deadwood Rey is placed upon Punk's shoulders for the G2S to end the show.
But the highlight of the show for me was Jack Swagger's pageant of trophies. The ring was filled with all his trophies, and he worked the crowd in bragging about his accomplishments. Big Show accidentally breaks a few and sends Swagger scurrying before holding aloft the title. Big Show: "Is that ... were you a Viennese Ballroom Champion?" Swagger: "2004!"
Swagger and Drew are getting top-notch protection in their title reigns, and Jack is getting more confident as a speaker. He and Show have chemistry as talkers, and I hope that translates to decent ringwork. Show seems to be enjoying himself in this angle.

Yes. She's magnificent.
The Big Show had no cause to destroy Jack Swagger's lifetime of achievement. Swagger was just sharing all of the accomplishments in his life with us and I for one was enjoying basking in his glory. Poor Swagger. So many empty trophy cases now.
I thought I couldn't love Jack Swagger any more, and then he had a staring contest with his picture. "You win, you always do." Goulet!

Most people would have looked at Madison Rayne winning the Knockouts title and said "That's stupid. Why would the second banana win the title, instead of Velvet Sky." WWE looked at that and said "Great idea! Let's put the women's title on Layla!"

Layla is the second Diva Search winner to win a WWE women's title, after Eve Torres of course, but she's the first Diva Search winner to win THE WWE Women's Title.
Also, Madison Rayne's virtue is that she's the one Beautiful Person who can actually work. The same can't be said of the new WWE Women's Champion in her faction.
Why do the FIRRRREDD! McIntyre angle if he's coming back exactly a week later? Why not make the IC tourney a #1 contender tournament?

YES! I caught that too! Also my girlfriend & I were rooting for the Show to take a bite outta "the Swaggie."
I'm guessing maybe half of Swaggers' "accomplishments" were real, the other half made up. (i.e. - the awesome Scrabble plaque with his 'fake' name spelled out on it. How many points IS "Swagger" worth anyway?)
C.M. Punk making Rey take the SES Pledge while unconscious was an awesome finale.
I was wondering...will the Lost finale affect Over The Limit PPV buys?

Two things: 1) it's easy heat, because those two guys went all out for the title only for McIntyre to walk in and get it back with a letter
2) the plan on Monday was for McIntyre to be out for about a month and for Matt Hardy to demand his reinstatement. then the plan on Tuesday was for McIntyre to come back immediately. so when they started the mini-tournament it was intended to be real.
That was an excellent match between Kofi and Christian. They were never going to have that match on Raw.
Layla is pretty awesome. All she can really do in the ring is stooge around but that still puts her ahead of most of the girls.
Maybe eating the Swaggie can be the blowoff to the feud. You have to build to something. Or maybe that's how Show gets his heat back? ; )
I like the swerve with the IC belt. It made me actually care one way or another about Drew for the first time, not to mention care about the IC belt. Simple, but effective booking. But what was with the Saturday Night Fever look?

I'm curious about the Punt, Pass, and Kick and more curious about him receiving Eagle scout at age 12 as I'm not sure if that is even possible or not.

The problem with the Punt, Pass and Kick one is that for him to have been 12 that was 1994. I've actually tried to do a search and not even the NFL has a complete list of results. I tried searching with his real name and his ring name to no luck.
A good, solid match between Kofi and Christian, which was why I was pretty disappointed that Kofi didn't get to keep the IC title. However, Justin Shapiro made a valid point that McIntyre coming back was easy heat just to walk right in and regain the IC title.
This Swagger/Show feud is getting pretty good and hopefully this translates into at least a semi-good match between the two.
As much as I dislike the divas division in the WWE, Beth Phoenix being gone is going to be a blow to the division because she is one of only a handful of divas that can get in the ring and do something.
The end of the show was pretty good when Punk GTS'd Rey and made him do the SES pledge (heel Punk never ceases to amuse and amaze me).
Didn't take as along as I thought for Vince to forgive Steve for screwing the end of the JR angle with Taboo Tuesday. Let's also thank Rajah for posting the info that Greenville, S.C. finally gets a PPV. It hosts Vengeance in June.
