Recap of Jeff Hardy's hit & run accident two weeks ago.

The show opened with Triple H & Vickie Guerrero and Vickie informing HHH that he must again face Vickie in a Last Man Standing Match. HHH responds by showing the nude photos of Vickie on the big screen. Vickie then responds by replacing HHH with MVP to face Big Show. If MVP loses, HHH is out of the Rumble.

The matches:

* Matt Hardy & Finlay defeat Jack Swagger & Mark Henry

Not a bad match. I haven't seen much of Swagger yet, but he's a pretty big dude.

* R-Truth defeats THE Brian Kendrick

Big Zeke with a beatdown on R-Truth post-match.

* MVP over The Big Show

Interference by a sledgehammer and his friend HHH seal the victory for MVP.

* Michelle McCool defeats Victoria

This was the lowlight of the night for me. I'm a big Victoria fan and this was her retirement match. She couldn't face the Diva's Champ in her last match? Little fanfare other than Jim Ross reminding us throughout the match that it was indeed her last. Commercial right after so I don't know if there was any other acknowledgement or not.

* The Cutting Edge with guest Jeff Hardy as the show ends but Hardy never makes it to the ring. Jeff's pyro blows up in his face causing him injury. Hurrican, Jimmy Wang Yang, and R-Truth all tend to him and he is finally stretchered out with Matt at his side. Edge and Vickie look concerned as the show ends.

Not a bad show - Used2BCool can maybe offer how many wrestling minutes there were. Stone Cold's video for HOF with 'Cult of Personality' in the background is pretty awesome.

She couldn't. 'cause she's hurt.

When Victoria did her shimmying/standing moonsault, the commentary by Tazz was right on.

It's hard for WWE to make a big deal out of someone who, in storyline, is a midcard heel. I thought JR and Tazz did a great job of talking Victoria up during their commentary and wishing her well. Besides, with so many retirement angles, it might be hard for the fans to really take it seriously.

Skinner: Well, I was wrong. The lizards are a godsend.
Lisa: But isn't that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we're overrun by lizards?
Skinner: No problem. We simply release wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They'll wipe out the lizards.
Lisa: But aren't the snakes even worse?
Skinner: Yes, but we're prepared for that. We've lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.
Lisa: But then we're stuck with gorillas!
Skinner: No, that's the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death!

They couldn't at least let her win her final match? I know they're trying to keep McFool "strong", but even a tag match where she could look strong against McFool and get the win against her partner would suffice. Screw you, WWE.

If this IS it for Victoria, then God bless her for working full bore all these years. Did she ever get that knee fixed? She was always entertaining, and she and Trish had the most credible female rivalry in the business.

Thanks for everything, Flower.

I'm sad that we never got our dream match of Beth Phoenix vs. Victoria.

(Ahahahaha, you called her McFool instead of McCool, that's so clever, please don't ever do it again.)

I thought it was a pretty middling show...

The MVP/Big Show was a good idea in theory, but the way it was done did little to help either man in that match. I wonder where MVP goes from now. He was getting definite face chants in that match, which is always positive.

I don't know about you guys, but Victoria/McCool was the match of the night for me. Both girls were given plenty of time to work with, and heel Michelle is infinitely more interesting than face Michelle. I have no qualms about Victoria losing, wrestlers go out on their backs. Unless, of course, you're Goldberg, then you go out by winning at Wrestlemania in one of the most pathetic PPV matches of all time.

If the reason for feeding THE Brian to R-Truth was to start a feud between Truth and Zeke, then I'm not impressed. But WWE logic suggests that ALL NEGRO MUST FEUD, so don't be too surprised.

Poor Jeff got blown up by his own pyro. Silliness aside, I liked Edge/Vickie's reactions. I'm sure it put doubts in the mind of the casual fan as to who's messing with Jeff, which is cool.

I wish I could help you here, but I watched this show in installments over the last two days, so I didn't time the matches. Generally Jason Powell of prowrestling.net has my back, but he seems to have failed me as well. If I had to guess, I'd say there were about 25-30 minutes of wrestling.

I do the reports for the Torch and time them out to the second, so I can say there was 36:12 in four matches.

My guess would be that he comes out next week as cocky as ever before taking a thunderous beating from Big Show. Or, Vicki punishes MVP by giving him the #1 slot in the Rumble, but he lasts the entire hour (or, at least long enough to break Benoit's record to get his name out of the books) before being eliminated.

Rey Mysterio already holds the record for longest time in the Rumble, though.

I dunno, who was he supposed to lose to? The other guy leaving at the exact same time? But Goldberg got laid out by Austin at the end of the match anyway.

Tajiri not only won his last match in the WWE, he was allowed to say thanks and goodbye to an appreciative crowd.

Exception proves the rule.

I will miss Victoria, even though they hadn't done much with her in the past while than have her lose matches. Which is part of the reason she is retiring, I think. :(

I'm pretty sure Tajiri lost to Gregory Helms. And if we want to get technical about it, he was on the losing team at ECW One Night Stand '06 as well.

Goldberg is a special case, because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have even bothered showing up were he scheduled to lose.

Plus, Brock was leaving too. Brock probably would have won if he didn't choose to leave.

God I'm really gonna miss Victoria. She and Stevie were fantastic together, and she played crazy like no woman I've ever seen. Even though Mickie was psycho, she did it later after Victoria laid down the psycho female groundwork. A friend of mine was really into Victoria, and we use to argue about who was better between her and Trish. I hope she does really well outside of the W.

The rest of the show was very weak in comparison to her retirement match. I only came in when that match started anyway.
