20 users, 11 chickens, and 17 googlebots as I type this. I bet it's REALLY eating up the CPU load.

In the random folder I had pages loading at a blistering 27 & 30 seconds.

Once people get back to work it'll load better.

I hit preview and got: This old hunk of junk rendered your page in 21.716 seconds.

AWESOME!

Yeah, I've noticed its been unbelievably slow today (unbelievable for this board, anyways, because it's usually so quick to load).

Check out the brand new Inside The Ropes Website, featuring the obscenely expensive Canadian BullBLOG!!! And the latest ITR is right here.

I've noticed it too and I've also seen a few double posts from different users. The first double post I saw I just thought someone hit the wrong button, but then I saw 2 double posts back to back in the politics forum.

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' Something's up. I'm going to see if there is anything I can tell from here.

//edit: Or, I could just wake Chris up and have him fix it.

And to those of you who really care about such things (or are overly curious), the culprit turned out to be a diabolical combination of exim and cron (and maybe also webalizer). Since I don't actively have anything to do with exim (OR webalizer), I blame someone else. ;-)

I got an IM yesterday from my webhost saying that there was an "issue" with about 1550 servers in the northeast and that they were solving the "issue".

I had assumed it (the problem here) was a combo of the server load and whatever "issue" was out here (beaver worm?) made it to you all out west.

Nah, I think it was just some configurational stuff that has been changed around now. It shouldn't be an issue again.

Yeah, but if you found a really good picture to go with it, it could be useful in convincing kids that abstinence is the way to go

Thank you Sec. I was very nervous with him, yes, but I had read the book. I didn't want to make the interview a rote chapter-by-chapter analysis, more of an overview.....
