Wow (sixflags.com)

Max height is 426 feet high, max speed is 128 mph. I cannot fathom riding this.

A lot of people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch of unconnected incidents and things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything. Give you an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Holy crap. That's 200 feet taller and 40 MPH faster than 6FMagic Mountain's Goliath (sixflags.com). Too bad I have no plans on going to Jersey anytime soon.

Praise the Lord and pass the vomit bag! I went to GA last year, and I'm ready to face this monster head on. Actually, hopefully this means I can get on the Superman ride, if everyone goes to the new ride.

SCARLET: Oh, come on, you don't think I'm gonna fall for that old trick?
WADSWORTH: It's not a trick. There was one shot at Mr. Boddy in the study. Two for the chandelier, two at the lounge door, and one for the singing telegram.
SCARLET:That's not six.
WADSWORTH: One plus two plus two plus one.
SCARLET:Nuh, uh. There was only one shot that got the chandelier. That's one plus two plus ONE plus one.
WADSWORTH: Even if you are right, that would be one plus one plus two plus one, not one plus TWO plus one plus one.

Is their Superman ride different from the one at Magic Mountain? Because the one at Magic Mountain sucks.

Eh, any true Six Flags Great Adventure fan knows that Rolling Thunder (sixflags.com) is still the most fun ride in the park. Granted, it's the fear of the thing falling apart while you're on the coaster that gets your adrenaline pumping, but it's still a thrill.

Wooden Rollercoasters are far more fun than the non-wooden ones in my experience. And yes, it is because of the overwhelming fear that the whole thing is *just* about to fall apart.

Ahh, so that's why RVD's move is so named. /*ducks projectiles from the RVD lovers */

New ride looks excellent! Does California get an even taller one next then?

This is absolutely true. I remember loving the wooden coaster at Magic Mountain in CA. The problem, moreso even than it falling apart, is the whiplash that ALL wooden coasters give to you. I need a chiropractor after I ride Rolling Thunder.

Yeah, the hands up in the air thing isn't so brilliant on a wooden coaster. I got whipped into the side of the car at SFoT and walked around the rest of the week with a nasty looking black bruise on my underarm. Owwie.

This Kingda Ka coaster looks awesome. That just has to be one hell of a whip around.

I think my favorite Six Flags coaster has to be Mr. Freeze at SFoT. Is that the same as the Superman ones at other parks, just with different theming? We still haven't made it up to visit the CA one since I moved down here.

I admit I'm biased, since the only park I ever go to is Kings Island in Cinci, but they've got two of the best wooden coasters in the world. The Beast, and Son of Beast.

You put your arms up on The Beast, you're walking away with some cracked ribs.

That would be... just fine.

There is a Mr Freeze ride at Six Flags here in St Louis, it shoots out at about 70 MPH, into a loop, then up a long straight up track, then it goes backwards, until you get back to the loading dock. Is that what the one out there is like?

Yeah, that sounds the same... with really sucky theming of Mr. Freeze's hideout. The ride lasts about 20 seconds but you come off the dock at some insane speed because of electro-magnets. ZOooom... *WHAM* ...ZooooOm walk out with a stupid grin on your face.

In NJ, that ride is called Batman And Robin: The Ride. Interestingly enough, the Robin side is MUCH faster at Great Adventure, and thus is my favorite roller coaster there (until I get on this new guy, and then all bets are off).

Generally speaking, wooden >>> metal. Metal coasters provide higher speeds and hairier loops, but a good wooden coaster can shake the fillings out of your teeth.

I'm going to be getting two HersheyPark season passes for 2005, after two trips last year. Storm Runner is short but nicely intense, Great Bear is a nifty metal coaster, and the Wildcat is the best and roughest wooden coaster I've been on in quite some time.

The last time I went to 6FGA regularly, the "new" ride was the Sarejevo Bobsled Ride...and maybe once or twice since. I think it was when I was in HS that they ran the "REDNUHT GNILLOR", or Rolling Thunder backwards, which friggin ROCKED. Do they still run it backwards like that?

With this one, just looking at the pictures, the sheer height of it makes my stomach hurt. I guess the alure of it is how unsafe and insane something that high looks.

I remember the Bobsled too! Is that thing even there anymore? Either way, 6FGA was the first park I went too more than once, and loved it! Hope I can get back east and get a ride on it sometimes this summer.

Are Predetor and The Viper still at Darien Lake. I used to go there back in the high school days and could ride the Predetor for hours.

Wow, MTV tooling around with a reality show? SURELY you jest. I mean, that would mean that not only Colin, but also Melissa AND Lori would have had to be lying about the Real World/Road Rules Battle of the Sexes on their personal sites...
