Hello, all.

Someone once told me that it was discussion board etiquette to introduce yourself to the board whenever you first joined up. This seemed, to me, to be a great way of jamming up the board with a lot of crap no one wanted to read. I mean, I can't start a flame war with myself to make this entertaining, can I?

At any rate, hello; I'm here. Please excuse the interruption.

Go You Huskies!

Aren't you the guy that writes the Obtuse Angle over on OO? If so, then welcome and I love your column! You'll find this place to be very openminded and usually pretty friendly. The ones who aren't like that eventually post a big dramatic monologue about how they're leaving forever so don't worry about them. Once again, welcome to the board!

Yeah, it's me. I learned from Rick Scaia that it's best to register your real name in as many places as possible, otherwise someone might do it for you. (The AIM name "OORick" is not Rick, for one. So the poor guy occasionally gets email asking him why he got in a flame war with someone, and he has no idea what's going on.) So I was registering my name here, after registering it in a block of other places, and I read some of the posts. Nice board, I thought, I think I'll stick around.

Thanks for the welcome.

Quick question. I'm kind of net-over-educated in some areas and net-ignorant in others. When I was making my profile, I noticed a place for putting an url for a photo that runs under your name. Is there a special website for these photos? Or will any do? How the hell do you make the thing work? Jeb no understand whirring box with changing pictures and beeps! Jeb smash!

Any website will do. For the picture at the bottom, you need to know HTML which I don't. Thankfully, CRZ was nice enough to manually fix it for me. For the one under your name (which I think is called an avatar), as far as I can remmber you just type in the address of the picture you want there. Let me pull up my profile and see what it says.

For my avatar pic it says http://slam.canoe.ca/WrestlingImagesHarts/bret_pose95.jpg

While for my signature pic it says <"IMG SRC=http://slam.canoe.ca/WrestlingImagesJ/jericho_benoit_may00.jpg HEIGHT=100">

Remove the two " symbols, though. I had to add those in in order for it not to just show my signature picture again.

I hope that helps.

There is also a Test forum where you can experiment with things until you get your "look" just right.

Well, pretty obviously, I got it to work. Thanks for the detailed help. I guess I'm now obligated to start writing posts with content... as opposed to choking up the boards with posts asking how to post and edit posts and then repost the post post post post. Post! Malkovich!

Hey no problem Jeb. What's the point of having knowledge and never sharing it? It's my way of "doing the time-honored tradition" and "giving back to the business that made me what I am today". I'm kidding, of course. Anyway, hope we see you over here lots from now on and once again, welcome!

Am I the only one to notice that there has been considerably fewer pissing contests in the wrestling thread since the dramatic monologue brigade departed?

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

The monlogists (usually the most fanatical WWE defenders) are not missed. Jeb on the other hand is most warmly welcomed, as his column is always wonderful. HHH's online diary was probably the funniest thing I've read online this year.

On 1wrestling.com today, they posted a story in which a fan had his Nash sign taken away from him at Raw by some security guards. They made a big deal out of it as if the company took the sign because Nash is coming back. You know how they are.
