PWInsider (adf.ly) is reporting that Shaquille O'Neal said he's in talks with WWE to wrestle Big Show at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Poor Show. He'll have a worse record than Bam Bam Bigelow against black celebrities at WrestleMania. Worse than Roddy Piper even, since he lost to the same black celebrity two years in a row. In fact, if this match happens and Shaq beats Show, Show will have the worst record against celebrities ever. He'll have lost to Akebono at 21, Floyd Mayweather at 24, and Shaq at 28.

I'd rather not see Shaq at all, but this is going to happen since he did win a title for the Heat and they may not boo him out of the building. It would be nice if once, just once the celebrity lost. Its getting worse each year. I mean Snooki, fucking Snooki has a WM win. I don't think Show has even won at Mania.

Let's just rename him The Big Sideshow.

Considering Shaq's rap album is called Shaq Diesel, there could be worse booking for Mania.

WWE should scrap the Shaq vs. Big Show idea. An even better idea for Shaq would be Shaq vs. Hornswoggle, as revenge for how racist Hornswoggle has gotten since Christmas magic gave him the power to talk.

I think because of the way he left town, Shaq is actually pretty hated in Miami, despite the title win.

Actually, he'll have three nice WrestleMania paydays. I never criticize a wrestler for getting a payday.

As they just made a point of mentioning, Show hasn't held a brand championship in 9 years. Aside from on-and-off conditioning issues, I'm not aware of any issues he's had with management over the years. But he's more Kane than Undertaker to WWE - more 'reliable big man' than 'drawing card we book extremely carefully'. It's a good result for Show, if the match comes off.

Do I remember where Show brought the Akebono idea to Vince?

Big Show held the ECW Championship in 2006, so they're kinda fudging the "no titles in 9 years" claim. He also took a year off from Feb. 2007 to Feb. 2008.

He was also a tag champ w/ both Jericho & Miz after his return, so it's not like the guy had nothing going on.

I figured that if the plan was for Cena vs Del Rio at Summerslam, they needed something to keep them busy for a month or two after Mania. If Del Rio puts out the big show at this next PPV, that could springboard him into a title feud with Cena.
