Starting about 1 hour from now, the server will be undergoing some major upgrades... Due to the joys of Debian and its packaging system, this should only result in a minimal outage while a few daemons are quickly restarted, but Zim told my I had to warn everyone anyway, so here's your warning.
When all is said and done, it'll have a shiny new Apache and MySQL, and a bunch of other fun stuff too. (It's moving from Debian 2.2r6 (Potato) to Debian 3.0 (Woody) for those who care).
// edit: All finished... There might be some tweaking over the next week or two to try and speed some things up, but no one should see any downtime from that for more than a few seconds at a time.

No, really... Nothing went wrong... I guinea pigged on a less important machine (good thing Martin never comes around here, I'm sure he doeasn't want to hear that Scud is "less important"), had one or two 30 second snags, wrote a couple of shell scripts to work around those, and then went on to upgrade 5 or 6 more machines in the space of 4 hours (most of that being download time), this machine being one of them. The fact that I help write and maintain the OS on a daily basis probably doesn't hurt, but it's mostly painless even for people lacking clue.
PS: Anyone looking for a part-time remote UNIX/Linux admin? </pimp>

Even when you're in dial-up mode, when you write a message, and it shows the previous messages below it, the pictures show up, instead of having the "IMAGE REMOVED" thing. I don't think that is intentional, so I thought I'd let you know.
