PWInsider is reporting Serena has been released. (Not confirmed by wwe.com at the moment.) This sucks. Serena was great.

Tiffany, Serena... Smackdown's dropping Divas left and right.

Could you translate that into English for us?

I think so.

Serena gets hammered skit from last month = roman à clef because Serena parties too much or something.

SEE ALSO: Crash Holly gets hammered with the APA after Crash embarrasses company by getting drunk at WWF New York IRL.

tanning salon = when Vince was accused of showing lewd pictures of his Kennedy to a girl at a tanning salon in 2006 and then psycho bitch Mickie made up a story about Trish's boyfriend (JACK?) coming onto her on Raw.

This Straight Edge Society angle has sure gone to pot. A year ago Punk was on fire. Eight months ago he was tearing up the Royal Rumble. Five months ago he's going into Mania with a red-hot angle with Mysterio. Now, he's down a stable member and is one of three guys losing matches to Big Show.

It just means it's time for him to reload once he inevitably dumps Gallows and Mercury and get a new Straight Edge Society going. Hey, I hear Darren Young needs somewhere to go.

I feel bad for Serena. I really do. I mean, she agreed to let them SHAVE HER HEAD, for God's sakes!

I never watch Smackdown, but did she ever have a match? If so, was she any good in the ring?

Her first match (on WWE TV at least) was last week. She wasn't horrible that's for sure. You gotta wonder now with Tiffany and Serena gone if they are either going to move some Diva's or just merge the titles, SummerSlam and this week's RAW certianly point to that.

I agree that the SES is donezo. It's populated with nobodies who require Punk carry them each week. He's good, but he's sandbagged. Maybe if Mercury had not lost AND been unmasked in his first return match ...

He can do this shtick alone. With his megalomania, he doesn't need anyone else around him to constitute a society.

Can't say I'm surprised Serena, who isn't built like the other divas, loses out while Jillian, a continuing rib on Hogan's daughter, continues to wrestle on RAW.

And my favorite woman on the WWE Roster is gone...congrats Natalya, you're promoted!

Even more of a reason to unify the women's titles now...

Damn. Right after her first match? After they kept Serena out of the ring so long, I was pretty chuffed to see her actually allowed to wrestle. What a letdown.

Now I miss Beth Phoenix by about another order of magnitude.

I would say she was the key to SES working. She was the one that put her body on the line to save Punk on numerous occasions which caused most of the faces to stop their moves. She had some good facial expressions during Punk's promos and the fact they shaved her bald made the entire gimmick worked. Now, its basically Edgeheads with a more whinny guy leading them. I don't know if the firing was justified or not, but its not a good move as far as storyline goes unless they already have something pre-taped ready for Friday. Its a shame to see her gone, but it could be self-inflicted, I am sure the dirt sheets will be all about it this week.

I also agree with combining the women's division. It is a rather lackluster group of wrestlers at their disposal at this time. Even if Beth comes back earlier, we are still headed for more LaCool antics which have become tiresome then real matches. Do it at Night of Champions and be done with it. At this point, I say combine all the belts and be done with it, but that won't happen which is good since the Spinner belt would the chosen belt since it would sell more. Explain to me again, why Sheamus has that thing anyway and not a real belt?

Does it actually still spin these days?
After this long it's no longer a novelty belt, just a very blingy regular belt.

Back to Serena, it sucks to see her go.
Lotjx is right, she was a large part of what made the SES work.
Though to be honest, the past two months have been less than stellar. The angle has ran its course, and Punk might as well go at it alone again.

They don't need something pre-taped btw.
If she's on the show still, they use her, then announce it next week. No problemo there.

It hasn't spun for years, and if they wanna change it now it either needs a traditionalist JBL-like character to go back to an older design, or just someone with a massive ego to make it their own. Someone feel free to correct me, but I don't think Edge even bothered to use the Rated R belt the last time he won it.

I actually agree with this. Her character was solid, but they sort of dropped the ball with Gallows and Mercury wasn't really needed.

I always get a kick out of the flakey off the wall valet, so I'll miss her for that.

Part of what has hurt Punk is of course the arm injury. For all the talk of the SES hurting Punk, I have to think that Punk would have just disappeared if he was a singles wrestler once he got injured. Therefore, I didn't mind the SES at all in that it kept Punk on TV. Of course, now I hope they turn this negative into my idea of a positive which is that Punk can drop the SES stuff (which they seem to be doing anyways). Once Punk is done with that program, he can go back to the early year feuds and programs that had him white-hot.

What is it with these big rear-ended women being released? First Mickie now Serena????

I think they need to kill the SES angle now. I think if they had added Big Show to the SES, they could have ran the SES angle a lot longer.

She's still listed on the Smackdown site as being on the roster, I thought they usually edited that as soon as their status changed? ...

Would Raven even want to do a WWE show after his last run with them? A lot of the true ECW *icons* are really in no shape to on the kind of matches likely expected of them.
