So through a connection, I was able to get free tix to Cena's first concert in Philly on Tuesday night. The TLA holds about 800 people...there were less than 200 there. A DJ spun for about 45 min, while various hype dudes came out and threw stickers or rubber bracelets to the crowd. Cena & Trademarc came out around quarter of 9, were solid live performers, took us back to the "back in the day...the old school"...by doing "Basic Thuganomics," the entrance song he was using until just a few months ago. He let one of the DJs show off his skillz for a few min, brought out Bumpy Knuckles for a song or 2 of his own, then "Bad Bad Man" & "My Time Is Now" (and to ask "What about the kids, fool?!"). And that was that...they stuck around onstage for another 5 min, with Cena thanking the crowd for their support and talking about how nervous he was. Also, there was a small WWE camera crew shooting the whole show, so look for some clips on RAW next Monday. It was an OK enough show, but certainly not worth the $25+charges that it cost people to get in though.
The most interesting thing happened after I left...I'm walking back to my car, and walk past a car waiting at a red light. The tattoo on the car's passenger's arm catches my eye...the Green Lantern logo. I look at his face, keep walk, and look back as it hits me...that was the Hurricane! Just tooling around South St with some blonde girl on his night off! Totally random but quite amusing.

I really enjoyed the first album ... the second one was decent, but tolerable. I just get a little tired of hearing about them 5 minutes. But, hey, the singer gets to go home and knock da boots with Gwenyth Paltrow.
