It just doesn't mean as much anymore when people turn every 6 months.

Oh right, I understand where you're coming from now. That said, one could argue that those turns were all necessary when they happened, and some turns were basically decided by the fans over a period of time (Eddie in particular).

But that's the problem; the fans wanted Face Eddie and they tried for a month there to ram Heel Eddie down our throats after he slammed Tajiri through his windshield. Nobody in the crowd bought it; they cheered him on even as the WWE tried to force a heel turn with face Tajiri looking for revenge. Eventually they said 'to heck with it' and let Eddie drift back to facedom.

A lot of these turns have been done without a whole lot of justification, without any central moment to explain/explore the turn. Rhyno shows up one day and he's a heel. Noble shows up after a heelish 'indecent proposal' bit and he's suddenly a face. Huh? Turning isn't the problem, it's the sloppy way they're turned which hurts Smackdown.

I'll buy into that as well.

And I forget about the rumored Stephanie heel turn return at Survivor Series ... the thought ofher returning just makes me nauseous.

I agree with you on all points. However, like I said, it was the fans who ultimately decided what happened with Eddie.

My point was that the turns were needed by each individual, due to the fact that each person was either in a rut or their character wasn't developing like it should. Whether each turn was well booked or not is another matter entirely.

It's very odd that was reported by Scherer, especially when you consider that someone who attended the taping said that the crowd actually popped for the FU post-match and Cena received a large reaction. The "stunned silence" comment is completely inaccurate. I'm surprised people still find credence in anything reported on that website, but that's an entirely different thread.

Well where's your proof? I'm sure that "some fan" is a REALLy good source huh? We don't know for sure who is telling the truth. It's Smackdown though, if they don't want to show it edit it out. If they do want to show it they can edit in a crowd reaction if it wasn't good enough.

OK, first of all, chill.

Second of all, I tend to believe someone who was actually there. For all we know, Scherer or his source was watching the live feed of Smackdown with the sound low. Where's his proof? I've read a few different reports of people who were in the arena, and they all said the FU got a loud reaction, as did Cena, both post-match. Why would they lie?

If you want to believe everything Scherer reports, go right ahead. I'll leave things there.

Has anyone else here decided to wait until they *see* Smackdown before casting judgement on this as the stupidest (or the best) idea ever?

WIENER OF THE DAY! July 6, 2002!

Wienerville Survivor League Co-Champion
If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like "Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.

Ok Nag, cross post refference, http://wienerboard.com/thread.php/id=11292 Half way down I mentioned this topic. The glass ceiling or Black Balled. Jarrett got it because HHH didn't want to work him. Nailz I liked he could have went farther.
