I totally got teary eyed for the last 15 minutes or so between Perry FINALLY saying out loud how he felt about J.D., The walk through the corridors with all the past characters, and lastly, the flash forward video. Man, this was a really great finale.
This whole season has been consistently great. I really don't want it to end, but Zach Braff doesn't want to do another season. Normally, this would be the end of it, but ABC seems to want another season or two. Bill Lawrence is saying that They will be happy with the show going on at least some of the original cast staying on. I can see Turk and Carla, Dr. Cox, The Janitor and Ted staying around for a new round of interns to mold. I can accept this.

That finale was awesome enough that I'll be disappointed if the show continues. It would be like Turk having such a strong goodbye early in the day. Maybe I wouldn't mind if they continued the Interns webisodes, expanded as a full show.

This season went a long way towards me feeling fond memories for it, even though JD & Elliott got back together.
Good finale, too.

Donald Faison and Neil Flynn both have other shows in the pipeline, and it looks like Sarah Chalke will be busy with HIMYM, so if they did return the only people who seem clear to be around are Cox and Kelso.
I wouldn't mind a show with just Cox and a whole new set of interns, but call it Scrubs:TNG or something. Scrubs ended last night with J.D.'s last fantasy sequence. The "Merry Xmas Perry!" sweaters, the idea of Turk and J.D. getting to have their kids marry each other, Elliot carrying J.D. off after the wedding...all great stuff.
I like to think that the Janitor told J.D. his real name. Glen Matthews. Also wonderful is that J.D. finally admitted to putting the penny in the door. If only he had said it all those years ago, he might never have been tortured. Or likely he still would have been.
Sunny nailed her line perfectly.
Hooch is so crazy!

I hope the show does end, but if it does not, then I hope that Dr. Kelso, JD, Turk, Carla and Elliot are all gone. A show centered more around Dr. Cox, the new interns and the secondary characters (The Todd, The Janitor, Ted) would be fine with me as there would never be a need to reference the departed characters. With Carla and Turn there, it would be impossible NOT to reference JD and Elliot since they are only 40 minuts away.
I loved the lines that the hallway characters threw out: Di you ever go on that picnic? I hate you JD, I didn't kill her - they were all meant for long time viewers who could appreciate them and remember those episodes.
This "finale" will definately rank in my top 5 finales of long running comedy shows - along with Raymond, MASH, Cheers and a spot I am reserving for a show I am sure I am forgetting.
Oh, and JD's son and Turk's daughter getting married was perfectly awesome.

The finale hit all the right notes, & was a perfect wrap to an under-appreciated show. As longtime fans, my wife & I really enjoyed that hour of television & she was in tears during JD's last fantasy. (I was fine, I was just cutting onions while watching...)
If the show does continue (and after that perfect finale, I hope it doesn't), I hope it's more like Frasier in that it takes a secondary character or characters & creates a whole new setting and tone. | Wpob

Dr. Cox and Jordan together would be good, but as stated earlier, I think both are committed to other projects.

| #14 Posted on 15.5.09 1252.00 | Instant Rating: 4.05 | It shouldn't be a shock. They kept promoting it as a "season finale." Yea, I know, that doesn't mean jack when shows are canceled these days after one episode and they could axe it during the hiatus.
I guess I was in the minority about the ending. I wasn't choked up, emotional, or felt anything. I was bored during that final scene. BORED. I was temped to fast forward it, but I didn't.
It was a good way to wrap it up for JD though. With this mix of the old cast slowly transitioning into the new one, it will be less of a shock for long time viewers.

On the one hand, I guess switching to a multi-camera format would help transition the show from being told from JD's sole perspective. On the other hand, shouldn't My Life in Four Cameras make this impossible, as they've already parodied what they would become?
