Did anyone catch Srubs last night? I love this show and loved last nights episode with Ted the Lawyer and his band of Acapellas singing various movie songs that fit in right with the theme of the moment from the show. Much like The Office, Scrubs is full of secondary characters that get brief moments to shine but always hit their spot (see The Todd: Inflatible High Five!)

Great Show. I do feel that it will eb cancelled though. Too bad. As I have said for a year, Scrubs/The Office/My Name is Earl/Arrested Development (buy from FOX now) would be a killer block of comedy.

They were singing songs from the Wizard of Oz, which the whole episode was a homage of sorts to. I liked how they were subtly laying the theme in (starting with JD listening to Toto) and then they finally went full force before the one commercial break when JD and everyone was heading for the door and the yellow line morphed into a yellow brick road. Still, the manner in which they fit all the references in (and sheer number of them) was amazing, and it was easily one of my favorite half hours of tv this year.

Didn;t they sing maniac when Elliot was scramlbing for her notes? I am sure that is not from the Wizard of Oz!

The patient whose heart was needed for a transplant was named Ray Bulger, after Ray Bolger, who played the Scarecrow. And I wouldn't have immediately noticed the reference if it weren't for the Alec Baldwin/Kim Basinger episode of the Simpsons.

The Wizard of Oz episode was great, but the second episode seemed like a waste of ostriches and Jason Bateman.

The Wizard of Oz episode last night was outstanding. What a great buildup, especially throwing in TOTO and JD's red shoes. I was disappointed in Jason Bateman's role in the 2nd ep, though. Is he signed for any more, or was it just a one-shot cameo? The ostriches cracked me up, if only for their dinosaur-like growling and superior intellect. Think they were the same ostriches that were "terrorizing" Randy on Earl a few weeks ago?

Likely the same terrorizing ostriches from "Dude, Where's My Car?". There must be some Ostrich Actor's Guild out there, ready to perform on sitcoms and movies.

The Toto reference was great and subtle--once I saw the yellow brick road I went, "Toto, I get it!" Plus the "I'm melting" and "man behind the curtain" quotes. I wonder if the episode syncs up with any Pink Floyd albums.

Plus the obvious one of Dr. Cox choosing Dorothy for "J.D.'s Girl's Name Of The Week". Actually, Johnny C. was in rare form all through that episode.

And the ostrich did look phat with the Kangol!

Great episodes, loved that the summoning up was done by Kelso. The series has really hit their stride while not losing its goofiness. The hug to the garbageman, the water pour during Maniac, Toto the iPod...just great writing.

Word is that NBC loves Scrubs, and they feel that can draw solid ratings since Zach Braff is teh awesome.

And at this point a Thursday night Scrubs/Random New Comedy/Earl/Office is probably more of a possibility than folks realize.

With all due respect -- you've got to be kidding me. NBC might love Scrubs, but the reality is that the show's ratings on Tuesday night are dismal. This past week's hour averaged a 3.8 -- and that's overnights only -- which is worse than when Office was on. When you're only doubling the CW and being trounced 600% by American Idol, whether Kevin Reilly and Jeff Zucker love teh Braff, it's not working.

Yeah, I have seen Scrubs the last few weeks, and I had never watched it before these last few weeks. I really loved the Wizard of Oz episode, but the second episode wasn't as strong. Perhaps not coincidentally (although I again don't know who directs the show usually), I noticed that Zach Braff himself directed the Oz episode, but didn't direct the second episode.

Scrubs has now become required viewing for me, for however long it remains on the air.

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

3.8? You know you're in trouble when AD is outdrawing you.

Both are brilliant, but at least Scrubs has the advantage of NBC having no other established comedies to bestow the Seinfeld slot to.

Fox can run to Family Guy but NBC knows they need a mainstay in that slot b/c their track record with new stuff is AWFUL. I don't think Joey's got it, 4 Kings is decent, and they're not going to bring back Working or Boston Common so what the Hell... gives Scrubs a shot.

Of course, at 3.8 (ouch) it's more likely we'll see another Law and Order but a boy can dream.

If you read my comic you'll be the 10th person (after SOK & Tricia) to do so in 3 years.
