Is there a way to take a screen shot of someones desktop?
I thought there was with the print screen button but I don't remember how to do it.
If there is a I have a great post April Fools joke im gonna do to my boss. Take a screen shot of his desktop then hide all his icons in a folder and place the screen shot as his background.
It will drive him nuts trying to double click on his icons and have nothing happen.
Thanks in advance :)

Depends on your OS, but yes. We suggest Google (google.com)

PS April Fool's Day was last week

How about taking a screenshot of a movie file (MOV, WMV, AVI, etc etc etc) ... "Print Screen" doesn't seem to do the trick there.

Inhalex is not a general, all-purpose anti-anxiety medication which will cause you to stop worrying about every single negative thing in your life, effectively freeing you from all undesirable emotions and completely modifying the innate behavior of your brain. That effect can only be achieved by taking Psellium, which no longer causes the production of sentient, pro-communist bowel movements. - Lowtax

I always liked Howie's Screen Capture Utility (available HERE). It's a basic screen capture utility, nothing more. Qucik 'n' easy.

edit: link heads to howiesfunware.com. My bad :-)

In WMP, <ctrl>-I works for me on a single frame after I pause it. I also learned this through the magic of GOOGLE

Control PrintScreen worked for me (OK< I am using a Compaq laptop, so I had to use the function key as well)

Then I was able to paste it (with Control V) into various applications.

Now, just wait a minute!

Are you saving the files as jpegs? Because jpegs get lowered in quality when they are saved. I'd suggest saving it as a png or a tif file instead.

NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Well i hit alt+print screen and then paste into PSP and the quality is just poor so there is no saving essentially.
