Sound like he will be NWO bound again too.
Any truth to these rumors?

He was supposed to take a physical this week, and if he didn't pass, JR wasn't even going to talk with him.
If he passed, I bet they'd at least consider bringing him in.

If they want some big stiff with ten gallons of roids flowing through his veins and questionable mic skills, go to any regional bodybuilding competition and pick up one of the guys there! You know what pisses me off about this situation?! You have a huge number of young guys stuck in the indies who (with a little effort on the part of the bookers and writers)could be bigger (figuratively) than Steiner EVER was, but they don't want to expend the effort. The lazy bastards (McMahon included) just want to coast along because there's little to no actual competition anymore. Just makes you wanna find McMahon and stomp the liver spots off his fifty-something ass until he agrees to push some new, non performance-enhanced stars... Not that I'm advocating violence against anyone of course...

The problem was TNN and UPN thought WCW was crap and refused to air it. So we got stuck with "EXcess" as well as a Invasion Angle.
Before you got knocking at Stiener for Roids, you should also look at HHH these days.

Say wha? How can you POSSIBLY compare HHH's juicing to Scott Steiner's???
Yeah, HHH is a bad case but COME ON. Steiner looks like he has an NFL-sized football surgically implanted into his arm with a vein you could drive a semi through.

Oh come on... You couldn't get even a little excited for a match with Kurt Angle? Suplexes and power vs. suplexes and power.
Those two were so similar in their primes it's scary - and even today Scotty can still go with the right opponents.

As much as I would like to see the WWF give all these indie guys a chance, it wouldn't make sense from a ratings standpoint.

| #8 Posted on 7.2.02 0837.02 | Without a doubt the WWF should Steiner. He's a recognised name, he's got a marketable look, he's a genuine heel, and he is still capable of having watchable matches. He would have to be 100% healthy to be of any use though, which is what the WWF appears to be waiting for...
I make no comment on the steroid issue because I do not hang out in the locker rooms and have no solid evidence that ANYONE is on steroids... that being said, Scott Steiners arms scare me. Hell, just the veins in his biceps ALONE are enough to scare me...

| #10 Posted on 8.2.02 0202.48 | Okay, now I'm happy. I've been real high on Steiner during WCW's last days (hell, him and Jarrett were about the only two people I gave a damn about). He was pretty much WCW's last champion as a company (they were already sold when he jobbed to Booker in a very classy move). I think he could be very marketable, and would be perfect to silence those who doubt that Hall, Nash, and Hogan could pose a threat to the WWF.
Hall, Nash, Hogan, and Steiner would be a threat to just about anything they wanted to be.
No matter how bad things may get, just imagine what would happen if Vince Russo was booking again, and you will feel better. |
