I am hoping that the symbol on Curt Schilling's hat stands for "Yankee Hater" but I may be wrong. I would love to get one if anyone knows where or how.

That is a nice looking hat. I can't help you out at all with what it stands for, but that may make a nice Father's Day present for the old man.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.

Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

Thats looks like an "H" instead of an "N". The line in the middle of the H is across the Y if it was a Yankee hat the N would be sideways through the Y.

I think.

Which is why it makes sense that it would stand for Yankee Hater. Or, since he's at a Bruins game, maybe it's HockeY. Or whY did joe tHornton suck? I dunno.

I don't know how smart those are, I mean from initial look it looks like a Yankee supporter hat... You have to look somewhat close and give attention to see the interlocking NY is actually a HY.

That's the beauty of it, the subtlety of the slam would be lost on the typical yankme fan

You will recognize the cap as soon as you get it. It's the same cap Schilling was wearing at the Bruins game. Last week--prior to the Yankees series--we sent 36 of the caps to Kevin Millar in the Boston Red Sox clubhouse, on the theory that he was the clubhouse prankster and that if anyone would pass them out to the Red Sox, he would.

    Fortunately for us, he did.

The Schilling picture also made today's NY Times. Unlike the Herald, they understood the significance of what appeared to be on Schilling's cap, and did a brief story on it. You can find it on page D-7.

The cap design that Schilling was wearing was created for promotional purposes only. We are actually selling a different design on our website (Yankeeshater.com). We gave away several hundred of the Schilling-design caps at Fenway Park on Friday and Saturday. We have been contacted by several buyers in the Boston area already, but we plan to be selective with our sales

To add to the hysteria, I have been told that one of the street vendors at Fenway Park managed to get his hands on one of our free hats, and was selling it for $75

We have been asked to do a pre-game (e.g., 5 p.m.) live spot from Yankee Stadium on Friday by CBS TV (the network that will telecast Friday's Sox/Yankees game in the NYC area). We plan to go in there with full guns blazing! We may end with a few bruises, but the fans of Boston deserve nothing less!

Hope you enjoy the cap; should be there soon.

    Best regards,

At www.yankeeshater.com , they show a couple of different versions of the other style, none of them as cool as the Schilling hat.

D'oh.

Having not seen these other designs but having a hunch, I'm gonna speculate that Schilling's hat logo was a little *too* close to the actual "NY" logo that the makers didn't want to bother subjecting themselves to a parody lawsuit by actually SELLING that design.

I'm sure the knockoffs will arrive soon enough!

A couple of years ago some fans made "Yankees Suck" T-shirts that had the N in the NY logo replaced with an S, similar to the YH hat. They sold them out in front of the stadium before the games of the Yankees-Mariners series.

Naturally, the Mariners banned them from the ballpark.

There are now 4 versions of the hat: Boston, Baltimore, Seattle and Mets.

None of the logos look remotely close to the real one.

Everytime I see stuff like this, I still regret not buying a "FRICK Kansas City" shirt, outside of a Broncos/Chiefs game back in 1991. Y'know the type... had the word "FRICK" stylized in "football type" over a red helmet.

I've been a Royals fan since 1969 when they entered into existence. The 1985 World Series Championship seems so far away. Graves9 is spot on. Dayton Moore is a dunce.
