I was reading on today about the potential problems baseball could have with the Expos. For example, trades. Since it looks like contraction for 2003, how exactly do they make trades? They don't need prospects bc there is no future. GOD FORBID STEINBRENNER GETS GUERRERO! Baseball should definitely prevent Montreal from making any trades during the season.

Yes, you're right.

The fact that they're even considering getting rid of the Expos is a very, very scary thought.

No way they'll trade anyone until they figure out what it will cost them to pay off Angelos so they can sell the team to a D.C. ownership group for $500 Million. Vlad is going nowhere. He's the most marketable player on the team (and will be in DC).

Now, Vasquez, on the other hand, can be yours if the price is right.

Ramos is a very well-regarded prospect, so getting him for a hit-and-miss closer is a nice deal for Washington.
