Yeah..I wasn't too thrilled with it. During the supposedly "emotional" climax, a good portion of the audience was LAUGHING at Cary Elwes' "acting". Ouch.
If you liked all the creepy imagery in "the Ring", it might freak ya' out. But to me it looked like rejected stuff from Tool videos (especially the gal with the head piece). Plus, the entire premise of the prisoners having to escape with a hacksaw: I liked it better the first time I saw it... in Mad Max. The film had a few decent moments, though. Overall, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't care to see it again.
The great gaping hole in my 2010 Oscar bait films was The King's Speech, and it's really a splendid film. Colin Firth was g-g-g-great as King George VI, and so was Geoffrey Rush as his speech therapist Lionel Logue.
