So I "saw" this movie tonight (ha ha ha ha).

Kinda neat, if you're into horribly dark things. And I'm not, usually, but I tried to maintain a proper mental/emotional distance from the film, and was rewarded.

Not a happy ending, though, and as such I feel gypped. Certainly an interesting and somewhat unusual film, though. Anyone else check this business out?

Yeah..I wasn't too thrilled with it. During the supposedly "emotional" climax, a good portion of the audience was LAUGHING at Cary Elwes' "acting". Ouch.

If you liked all the creepy imagery in "the Ring", it might freak ya' out. But to me it looked like rejected stuff from Tool videos (especially the gal with the head piece). Plus, the entire premise of the prisoners having to escape with a hacksaw: I liked it better the first time I saw it... in Mad Max. The film had a few decent moments, though. Overall, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't care to see it again.

The only flaws in this movie was A) the acting which was mentioned, and B) it was too drawn out.

I thought the ridiculously shitty editing the movie had was a pretty big flaw.

glad to see this finally on DVD. A very strange version of the Scottish play, filmed on the cheap by Orson at night, on the set of a B-movie western. Yes, it co-stars Roddy McDowell AND Alfred from the Batman TV series.
