I'm reminded of CRZ's old assertion about WCW: if you can't defend it without bringing up something the then-WWF has doen wrong, you can't really defend it.

Even though most of us know/agree that some level of abuse of power is common in government, this should be pretty damaging to a candidate who is running as a mavericky breath of fresh air. McCain and Palin have been trying to portray themselves as independent and above the political process. Unfortunately for voters, stories like this indicate they are more of the same.

So everybody is shocked that a politician is dishonest. In related news, people looked in wide wonder as the sun set in the west, were mystified when brocolli gave them gas, proclaimed from the highest mountains when they noticed the water in the toilet went in the same direction every time, and all suffered major shock related heart attacks when they looked outside and saw the grass was green.

Vaguely. That was when we weren't at war, we had a surplus of cash, and the economy was strong, yeah? Hell, news was so slow we had to prosecute the President for getting a BJ just to generate some. Guess everybody forgot that no news IS good news.

Although, when I first read that, I was perplexed; is earned run average was very obscure in that he only pitched on little league game in 1955. Nobody's going to remember that, dude.

On that note, why don't we all just make those in power powerless? There's more of us than them. Okay, just kidding, no more Commie talk.

The trouble is that people confuse personal with public life. Bill Clinton had the morals of a groundhog but was a pretty damn effective President. I voted for him, even when I questioned his ethics because the good politically outweighed the bad.

People do the same thing at work. They confuse being a nice guy/gal with being effective. It's nice if the go together but often they don't

But, as usual, Moore's trying to play by his own rules. As our beloved dictator previously stated, it's illegal to offer anything of value in exchange for a specific vote.
