The time-limit countdown is a staple of wrestling. It's probably older than me. I see his point; who hasn't gotten frustrated with wrestling cliches now and then. But this was a free TV match, not a PPV match.

I'd think he'd be more upset at Eric's phone call that smothered the first half of the match. That bothered me much more. We get Joe/Hardy, and Eric is talking about ECW's arrival.

Uh, you guys should see Pulp Fiction.

Seriously. See Pulp Fiction. Love it or hate it, it's only the most important, influential film made in the 1990s.

The way it read to me is that Joe was pissed because Impact matches don't have time limits, so why would this match all of a sudden have one? It has always kind of bugged me. I would have no problem if they made it official that all Impact matches had a 15 minute time limit.

I think time limits are usually implied, but Joe's right - as soon as you start announcing how much time is left in the match, you've telegraphed the ending and made it a waste of time.

OR perhaps Joe was unhappy that after the time limit expired, they didn't immediately go to judge at ringside Larry Zbyszko for his decision. (See, I can flaunt my old school TNA knowledge as well)

A third vote for that. I laughed my ass off when I saw that quote. Of course, I always think of Tony Rocky Horror when I see Joe, but Pulp is one of my favorite movies.

Here's my take on the suspension. Everybody gets pissed off at their job from time to time. Some days we deal with it well, some days we don't. Joe had a bad day at work and snapped. I'm just glad there aren't Internet reports every time I get pissy and snap at work.

But if he railed against the countdown after the match, does that mean he didn't know the match's gimmick before he went out there? Why would he yell at the production guys for a booking decision?

I assume (yeah, yeah) that he blew off steam for other frustrations, and they set him home to cool off.

Is it possible that the suspension is just a cover story and Joe is really suffering from Stockholm Syndrome and has gone to reunite with his ninja kidnappers?

He knew the booking decision, but the fans didn't know the booking decision until they started doing the countdown. When you're a promotion that usually doesn't count down how much time is left and suddenly do for a match, it's an easy giveaway that the match is ending.

Other reports say TNA (Russo?) originally wanted to do the countdown, Joe explained why it'd be a bad idea, TNA agreed and told him they wouldn't do it, and then went ahead and did it anyway. That sort of thing can fairly drive a man insane.

If that's the case, I understand why he'd be mad.

What worked: Roode's promo - That was one of those promos where you can see the guy becoming a bigger star as it progresses. Really good stuff.
